A Better Today Recovery Services ABTRS was founded in 2009 with a sincere desire to help the largest number of people recover from drug and alcohol addiction.

In active addiction, we resent the world and how flawed it is.

We hold on to the ways in which we have perceived that others have wronged us.

Or maybe we have truly been wronged and we tend to focus on that.

The process of recovery means taking an honest look within.

Yes, people have likely wronged you, and the world is highly flawed.

But grasping the fact that we can only change and control ourselves can save us a lot of frustration and heartache.

Many who are or were in active addiction understand the experience of having no idea how to identify and regulate emotions.

Actually, drug use served to numb us from feeling anything at all.

We didn't want to experience the pain and complex mental processing of those emotions.

In recovery, we must learn to recognize and experience the emotions that come with being human.

A part of getting through early recovery is learning to feel the negative emotions and allow them to pass.

If we dedicate ourselves to recovery, we have the promise that we will soon begin to experience positive emotions.
