It was a fun morning in the clinic today! We had Braden, a third year pharmacy student at Ohio Northern University, come in and shadow. He was interested in the chiropractic profession and its management for pain relief. A multifaceted approach between physical rehabilitation and pharmaceuticals can be ultimately beneficial for patients. 🤝🏻

New provider alert!🚨 Please help us in welcoming Maggie to our team! She is a licensed massage therapist who looks to provide excellent care for our patients. Her books open up in a few days and she hopes to fill a very popular window of time for a lot of our working patients, Saturday morning and Monday/Tuesday evenings. She will be working Monday/Tuesday 4:30-8:30pm and Saturdays 8:00a-12:00p. We will be offering a massage special price for her of $60 for a 1 hour massage. Give us a call to get on her books!

Today, as we prepare for Dr. Hakes’ funeral, here are some pictures from over the years. He opened American Family Chiropractic in 1995 and was in practice a total of 31 years. He was a one of a kind guy and will truly be missed!

It is with the heaviest of hearts we share the news of Dr. Hakes’ passing earlier this week. He served the community for 30 years and has touched the lives of so many. We will do our best to carry on his legacy of kindness, compassion and generosity. Please join us for his celebration of life next week.

A message from Dr. Spille:
It is with the deepest sorrow on my heart that I come to you to share some unfortunate news about Dr. Hakes. Thursday evening, he was traveling back home after a Shriners event in downtown Cincinnati, when he was involved in a very serious car accident. He was air lifted to the downtown UC Hospital and has been in stable, but critical condition. I will work with the family to continue to provide pertinent updates on his status but wish to respect he and his family's privacy as much as possible at this time. I ask that you please pray for them.
Dr. Hakes has been practicing chiropractic for 30 years now and has played a role in many of your lives with his care. I had the pleasure and good fortune of joining him in 2014 when I graduated from chiropractic school and have been with him ever since. He has been many things to me in life, but mentor and dear friend to name a couple. Many of you who see Dr. Hakes know me and have seen me over the years when he has taken time away from the office.
I am going to be resuming work at the clinic Monday, December 16, and will be taking on his patients for the foreseeable future.
To facilitate this, I am going to be expanding my hours to accommodate his patient base. As chiropractors, we are privileged to serve our patients, and I will do my absolute best to continue to provide the best care I can for those who are willing to entrust their care with me. The staff have already begun reaching out to many of you on the schedule and will continue to reach out in the days ahead about rescheduling going forward Thank you for your understanding in this difficult situation and I look forward to serving you.
