(3/3) “In March of this year, I met with a healing priest named Father Jose. He leads a Eucharistic and healing ministry in Jacksonville, Florida. I explained everything that had happened up to that point. He said that it wouldn’t be fixed right away, but that it would be fixed. He gave us a bag of salt, along with some simple instructions. Two months later, the healing started.
In May, tests revealed that I have a gluten intolerance. As it turns out, I have Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity. The gluten intolerance triggered six autoimmune diseases, which resulted in all of the symptoms I was having. It was discovered that I had extremely high yeast antibodies, which meant that I had a major yeast infection of the gut. Once yeast is in your system, it wreaks havoc. If it’s in the gut, it’s in your brain. And it’s very difficult to get rid of. The high levels of yeast in my system led to Leaky Gut Syndrome, which causes nutrients not to be absorbed by your body. So I wasn’t getting the nutrients and vitamins that I needed, which resulted in the inflammation. I had been prescribed steroids for the inflammation. The steroids were simply feeding the yeast, making the overall problem even worse. Doctors had been trying to treat all of the symptoms instead of trying to find the root cause.
Six months ago, I was in a wheelchair, unable to leave the house without help. I was so weak that I couldn’t even take out my own contact lenses, get dressed or brush my own teeth. I was having up to 21 spells each day.
Today, I’m not taking any medications. The spells have been reduced to maybe one every two months. I have completely changed my diet, and I think this has been the key to my recovery. I eat all organic now, including grass-fed beef and free range chicken. I have eliminated dairy and gluten from my diet. I take supplements and a probiotic every day. I practice yoga, meditation and other stress management techniques. I work out 2-3 times per week; I even walked two miles last Friday. I’m going back to high school next semester to finish out my senior year. And now I have my learner’s permit! I’m slowly starting to get my life back.
My mom has spent most of the last three and a half years devoting her life to finding an answer to this, and I'm so thankful that she never gave up. If you're having trouble trying to find answers, whatever you do, don’t give up hope. Keep looking for answers, even if the doctors say there's nothing wrong."
