Vodu practitioners often believe in the efficacy of other religions or spiritual traditions because God, if it/he/she exists, shows no favoritism. Wisdom is not limited to any particular religion, practice, or people.

so many ways to heal, when we (all) remember who we are. ✨🙌🏿🌿

The curandera nodded her head smiling sweetly at Doña Chole, then went into her house and brought out a bundle of herbs, some fresh and others dry. Life and death were within her wrinkled hands. As she came back, the curandera started singing a song that Doña Chole didn't understand, but took away her tears. Then she took a cigar and blew to***co smoke in her face, and ended by giving her a scrub with the herbs she held in her hands.

The pain in her chest disappeared immediately. Doña Chole didn't remember what it was to live without pain, and felt like something was missing... [She asked what had been wrong with her. The curandera explained]

"Old pains in the craw. I took the hands of the military [who had r***d her and taken away her lover, who was never seen again] from your spirit and reminded your soul that it was free and that no one had touched it, that's why you screamed. I take away the guilt and shame that you did not have to feel and I took them out with to***co.

"Doña Chole paid the curandera with lettuce and tomatoes from her field, and took her leave, thanking her for curing her pains."

Doesn't name the curandera or the country, but it looks like Mexico; the blogger Paola Klug is from there. What a photo. Looking out into the world, with all the various healing, therapy, coaching, counseling, energy and bodywork modalities becoming more accessible and sought after, we come back to what's not seen, but once was and has always been.

Acculturated Space is now Ancestral Healing Space.

This name change represents the original fibers that created this offering — that the traumas and ideas of the past are often holding us back now, and that the love and wisdom from those before us can be leveraged for our personal and collective evolution.

Ancestral veneration and reverence has always been part of the practices of AS, both in our Bali immersions and 2018 group online program, leveraging the wisdom of those before us to support and nurture our development.

And now, we'll be calling greater emphasis on this aspect of healing —

in the Spirit (ancestral lineage healing),
in the Body (emotions and trauma in DNA), and
in the Mind (psycho-spiritual discovery and coaching).

What's been going on?!

So I've got this love/hate thing going on with social media...hence why I'm here and there nowadays which is much different than before when y'all could see all the goodness and crazy that is my life.
Just a note -- I'm not hiding. I'm just doing, and being and processing and creating and writing and holding myself accountable and in great integrity to be and do what I think my calling is. And as I climb this stairway of a path, I'm also maintaining western living and responsibilities. AND THAT Y'ALL is where the struggle lies for me right now.
'cuz 'murica is nuts right now.
Having been an immigrant the last 3 years, re-inserting myself into this construct and system is nothing shy of a mind-f*ck.
I see a need. I feel an urge. I'm just navigating how I'll show up...
So the moral of the story (or post 🤣) is: Take the space that you need. The internets can wait.
In the meantime, I look forward to sharing all that's unfolding behind the scenes.
For now I'll just say how incredibly proud and excited I am to be journeying with an incredible group of women showing up to in . While I'm holding space, I'm also learning too AND in full transparency.
I believe THAT is how this whole healing / mentoring / coaching movement should be done nowadays. No more guru-ness or teacher pedestal-ing. And likewise, we don't have time for the "I'm human too" excuses when we f*ck up either. Let us all show up and get through these steps of unearthing our s**t and integrating our shadows. Tribe style.
