I was inspired to create MINDFUL LIVING in order to share my expertise in nutrition, mental Wellness and physical activity with individuals looking for guidance in creating a healthier, more balanced lifestyle. It is the practice of being conscious or aware of the life choices that we make everyday which impact our well being. As you all know, life can be challenging at times. After experiencing hardships in my own personal life, I realized the importance of making health, both physical and mental, a priority. I have found that true health can be achieved by focusing on 3 key aspects: nutrition, mental wellness, and physical activity. Proper nutrition is a crucial ingredient for MINDFUL LIVING. In a world filled with processed foods, unhealthy preservatives, chemical pesticides and genetically modified organisms (GMO’s), it is difficult to make heathy, nutritional choices. The truth is, the right kind of food with the proper preparation techniques can actually prevent disease and illnesses. Hippocrates said it best, “Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food.” Food can energize, alkaline, strengthen, create harmony in the body, as well as control weight. Through MINDFUL LIVING, I will help you achieve a balanced and healthy eating lifestyle by providing you with the most current information regarding nutrition. I will assist you in designing daily meal plans that meet your nutrition goals, and even take you on grocery store tours and kitchen walk -throughs to identify the good, the bad, and the ugly. Mental well-being is often over-looked but is, in fact, a vital pillar of cultivating overall health and MINDFUL LIVING. Mental wellness means being conscious of our thoughts, decisions, and feelings on a daily basis. Adding meditation to your daily life can enhance awareness and make one more able to cope with the stresses of life. A favorite quote of mine follows: “Buddha was asked, ‘What have you gained from meditation?’ The Buddha replied, ‘Nothing.’ ‘However,’ Buddha said, ‘let me tell you what I have lost: Anger, Anxiety, Depression, Insecurity, Fear of Old Age and Death.’ ”

We will also identify and create strategies to conquer the barriers that keep you from living a truly healthy, happy and MINDFUL life. And finally, one can’t overlook the importance of physical activity as a part of a well-rounded and successful MINDFUL LIVING lifestyle. Physical activity can help control your weight, reduce the risk of disease, strengthen bone and muscle, and improve mental health and mood. As a former collegiate athlete, current USPTA Tennis Professional, runner and yoga enthusiast, physical activity is not only a daily routine, but a lifestyle. Together, we will develop a specific physical fitness plan that will focus around your interests, desires and goals. I know all of the above sounds great, but what good is a health plan if it’s not followed? Not only are you going to be accountable to yourself, but you will be accountable to me! l will give you the guidance and motivation you need to get started and will support you during each step of your journey. I will work with you to make adjustments, create achievable goals, and keep you on track with living out a truly successful MINDFUL LIVING lifestyle.
