Long time, no post. :( Trying to get back to sharing happy, healthy thoughts! So...I've realized I tell people about my morning Espresso Protein Shake a lot! So I thought I'd post it here on FB. It's important to have protein for breakfast; to support brain function, keep your hormones in check and satiety...to name a few! If you're like me though, breakfast needs to be fast and involve coffee! So every morning I make this, paired with 1/4 cup of Granola...cheers!
ESPRESSO PROTEIN SHAKE
2 Shots of espresso (or regular coffee)
1 Scoop Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein Powder - "Vanilla Ice Cream" flavor
6 oz. Chocolate or Vanilla Soy Milk (or milk of choice)
Shake well in a blender bottle and pour over ice!

Makes 24 oz...
- 3-4 mint leaves
- 2-3 slices of orange
- 2 slices of lemon
- 2-3 slices of cucumber
- 24 fl oz of ice cold water
Let it sit in the fridge overnight for maximum benefits.

Week 2! Into Week 2 now of Max 30, soooo glad to be over the sore muscles. Shaun is great motivator, but sometimes my body just stops working! I've been trying to just move slower when I feel like I want to quit, it's better than stopping completely. Diggin' Deeper!

Day 4: Tabata Power Again. Yep, I chose to take a break yesterday. My muscles were SOOOO sore so I knew my form would be crap. Today I felt great and nailed the work out, woot! It's important to let your muscles recover when you start a new program, but don't rest for more than a day in the first few weeks, then no more than 2.

Day 3: Sweat Intervals...should just be called TORTURE! I was very sore to begin with, could barely move. But I pushed play anyway, muscles warmed up and I powered through. Even decided to do the optional 10 min "Ab Attack" afterwards. Laying on my mat at the end...I think I died for a few minutes. Can't wait till tomorrow! ;)

Day 2: Tabata Power...can barely type because my arms are shaking. It was intense, a lot of hop lunges, push ups and ab work. Full body for sure! Surely won't be able to walk tomorrow. But the key to results is to do a work out you CAN'T actually do. As you progress and CAN do it, that's when results happen!

Day 1 is done!  It was an awesome challenge, looking forward to "Tabata Power" tomorrow!
