Because you are human, you will have days when you experience negative emotions like ANXIETY, ANGER and DEPRESSION. The GOOD NEWS is there is an ANTIDOTE and it is called GRATITUDE. In the midst of your struggles - try listing things you are thankful for and PRACTICE having a positive outlook. An ATTITUDE of GRATITUDE may be all the help you need.

Life truth: You and I will experience pain in our lives – suffering is a side effect of living which cannot be avoided. But, those experiences do not have to DEFINE your life. I can heal and so can you. You can learn from what has happened. You can choose to forgive yourself and others – and live a full life scars and all.

The verbal assault comes out of nowhere . . .you can:
1. Quickly react and fire back or
2. Pause and reflect and choose your next course of action
The choice is yours to make.
Sometimes the most impactful thing we can do is to not react at all, to turn and walk the other way. Let them simmer in their own juices for a while. Perhaps they will get a whiff of their brand of toxicity.

Some days it seems like BULLIES are popping up at every turn.

Like a master bartender, they stir up a toxic cocktail of name calling, threatening behavior, chaos and conflict in order to control and manipulate everyone around them.

The more we drink what they are serving - the more we empower, enable and encourage the proliferation of their brand; always a poisonous concoction.

While they may be intoxicated with their delusional version of “winning” - the best cup we can serve is calm, cool, centered sobriety.

Non-reactivity is their nightmare and usually shuts down their drama fueled invitation to verbally and emotionally spar.

Life is short.

Time is precious.

It is up to each of us to protect our moments, our peace of mind and quality of life.

Today I am choosing gratitude, graciousness, kindness and peace as my personal boundaries.

And in that space - I have no room for bullies.

React or Reflect? In the face of uninvited drama - the choice is always yours to make. It's important to remember that there are people who thrive on lighting emotional fires - you can add fuel or simply throw a wet blanket on their favorite past time and walk away.
