"You're Not The Same"...This is a very common phrase I hear with my clients when talking about how their friends and family view them.

Due to the difficulty being in Social settings, often clients will opt not to be involved, and this can lead to isolation and in turn feelings of depression.

It is important to keep trying to integrate yourself in social settings even if it is on a small scale. Going for coffee, walking in the mall (without reason). However, it is important for friends, family and loved ones to continue to include and invite the persons with the injury even if 90% of the time they are unwilling.

People Who Have An Acquired Brain Injury Usually Find It Difficult In A Grocery Store Setting. Here Are A Few Tips To Help Make That Experience Better...

1. Make A List🗒: Buy A Magnetic Grocery List That You Can Place On Your Fridge And Add To Throughout The Week.

2. Have a Plan Of Action💡: Based on Where Items Are Located in The Store (i.e. Bakery-->Meats--> Produce ) Map Out Where You Will Start And Pick Up Items As They Are Available In The Store So You Don't Need To Backtrack

3. Wear Headphones🎶: Listen To Your Favorite Music Just Loud Enough That It Drowns Out External Noise So You Can Focus On The Task And Have Less Distractions •
