I often get asked what the difference is between integrative medicine and functional medicine and standard American medicine (SAM model). The SAM medical model matches symptoms to drugs for relief of suffering. Functional medicine looks to get to the root cause. Integrative medicine looks not only for root cause but also integrates the mind, heart and spirit into the plan of care. I love teaching people to become health coaches. To me this is the answer to our health care crisis!
