Halloween at Bainbridge Island Health and Rehabilitation was so fun!! We had a few different sets of trick or treating and then a party for our residents with amazing food (thank you so much to our amazing dietary staff) and a costume contest followed by a pumpkin decorating contest) Our theme this year was “1950’s Hollywood” and each resident was given an Oscar because, really, they are the real stars ⭐️ ✨🌟 (also our pumpkins tied, if you would like to vote below please do! 1, 2, 3 or 4???)

Ohhhhhh my does it smell amazing in here! Our residents have finished our first batches of soap to sell at our craft fair and bake sale on November 8th and 9th!! For these batches they chose vanilla and coffee for one batch and brown sugar and cinnamon for the second batch. We are so excited to cut them and package them ♥️ we have so many wonderful crafts to share!!!

We have had quite a week at BIHR! We celebrated our housekeeping/plant team AND our amazing therapy team!! We also had a dress up week, began our projects for our upcoming craft fair and bake sale (keychains this week) and had a co****le change which our 100 year old bestie won!! It was a beautiful week ♥️

August was such a fun month for us at BIHR!! Art R., cna was nominated and won employee of the month because of his amazing work, of course but also because he goes above and beyond for our residents constantly. He works so hard on these drawings that bring color, joy and comfort to our community. Excellent work Art! Thank you so very much for sharing your talent!!! We had tattoos and brews, a birthday party with an amazing cake consisting of chocolate and homemade berry compote that was delicious (made by our own Dietary manager Lonnie) and it was just what the residents wanted!! We had a lovely young woman come and play the piano for our residents and they loved her. Thank you so very much Hazel ♥️. Our softball season came to an end and the Bainbridge Baddies played hard but are still the underdogs, until next season!! We brought some residents along to cheer us on during our last game and our DNS showed up to support us also!! (Thank you Hanan) We sadly said goodbye to our volunteers who spent so much time over the last year building relationships and bonds with our residents, we wish them the very best in the future but they are both amazing humans and the world is their oyster!! They will both do amazing things. We also went to the car show and helped support Helpline and collected enough back to school supplies to fully support at least 12 kids with backpacks, lunch bags, paper, notebooks, binders, crayons, glue, pencils and SO MUCH MORE ♥️ We have a fantastic new activity team full of excitment, new ideas and empathy. Goodbye August, I can’t wait to see what September brings for us.

Bainbridge Island Health and Rehabilitation is number 8 on the list of the Top Line Report!! Out of 192 facilities!! We are extremely honored and proud that our team and our consistent dedication to our residents has been recognized. Excellent work BIHR!!

We live in such amazing community. The local Island Volunteer Caregivers made up these beautiful bouquets and deliver them to our residents frequently during the summer. Every single time they come the entire facility brightens up!! Thank you friends ♥️

Looking at my lunch (an apple and a slice of Gouda) and the residents lunch and I have decided mine is dreadfully lacking….. salad for the win 🏆

Bainbridge Island Health and Rehabilitation is currently hosting a back-to-school supply drive. The needs are many, but backpacks are at the top of all the local district's lists (even gently used, clean backpacks). Binders, lined paper, tissue boxes, Crayola crayons, pink erasers, headphones, black or blue pens, pencils, colored pencils, dry-erase markers, folders, Elmer's glue, index cards, fine-point Sharpies and markers, and more are needed. We have until August 22nd to gather supplies. Please donate if you are able. We are honored to have the opportunity to help our Kitsap County families get prepared for another year of learning and growing. Donations can be left at Bainbridge Island Health and Rehabilitation Center, 835 Madison Ave N. Thank you for your support ✏️✂️📚📓🚌

We had a very small Fair day yesterday…. Knocked over some cans, matched some ducks, played a little bean bag toss and skee ball and then ate some fair themed food. Summer on the island is so lovely and our residents had fun
