Yoga is the stilling of the modifications, or fluctuations, of the mind.

Y’all, this will be my FIRST deep dive into the yoga sutras. I knew when it was a suggested reading in my first 200 hour YTT with that I wasn’t ready to dive into the depths of this text/knowledge.

Fast forward, five years into my teaching and deepening of my own personal practice I revisit the teachings of Patangali and the yoga sutras. Creating a new relationship to the eight limbs of yoga.

So grateful for this journey and grateful to my current teacher for reminding me of the importance of this work, this knowledge, this practice. THANK YOU.

All I can think about is ways I can work to still my mind. Just after reading the first two pages of the Sutra’s I’m now really examining my relationship to my thought process and this world around me.

Why do I create certain stories in my head?

why do I make assumptions about things that have nothing to do with me?

why do I still hold on to matters of the past when the only true moment is this current moment? The only one that exists

The mind is such a beautiful thing. My mantra for today is: “FREE YOUR MIND THE REST WILL FOLLOW” and as one of the very first sutras to be introduced in the texts it’s no wonder that stilling the mind is one of the first true practices of yoga.

Y’all! I LOVE WHAT I DO!!

I am so so grateful to be able to guide folks to this beautiful practice of yoga. Today I was able to work with some folks from Omaha Nebraska who have never practiced yoga before and we’re definitely reluctant and hesitant.

They really loved the simplicity of the movement and being able to sync their breath with each movement.

Yoga doesn’t have to be difficult y’all. It doesn’t have to be fully asana based either.

We really focused on gratitude and their love for one another. I had them take a moment to look around and just soak in all the joy and all the beauty of their new surroundings here in Phoenix and the love they have in their heart for their family members.

THIS PRACTICE IS TRULY MAGICAL. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

For me, I used the eclipse energy to manifest the new beginnings I’ve been craving for some time now. I personally am a Gemini moon so I crave and love change, transitions, and the idea of beginning something new. MUTABLE GANG 😂
