Thyroid Eye Disease is an inflammatory response when the autoimmune system attacks the tissues around the eye orbits, gorging on similar proteins found in the thyroid. TED and Graves' are two separate diseases. We're small, and don't mind that. We don't argue about science. Science rocks. Board Certified Doctors rock. We don't sell goods or services. We hope that everyone who comes here will find the information and strength they need and feel empowered, gaining understanding and strength for the journey.

Orbital Decompression for Thyroid Eye Disease 👀

(or TED) is a complicated autoimmune disorder that causes inflammation in the tissues behind and around the eyes. While modern medicine has made a profound breakthrough in the way we treat inflammation, surgery will always play a very important role in the management of TED.

While this young patient had improvement in inflammation and proptosis after a course of teprotumumab, his eye were still bulging abnormally. Removing some bone and fat behind the eyes with an orbital decompression, he was able to look and feel like his normal self again.

Scammers sometimes create fake emails that look like they’re from Facebook. These emails often look like:
Notifications about friend requests, messages, events, photos and videos.
False claims that you went against our Community Standards, and if you're a business, that you aren't in compliance with Meta Advertising Standards, the Commerce Policies, and other policies and terms.
Warnings that something will happen to your account if you don't update it or take a certain action.
Claims or offers that sound too good to be true (such as winning a Facebook Lottery.)
Here are some ways to check if an email is really from Facebook.
If an email or Facebook message looks strange, don't open it or any attachments. Instead, report it to phish@fb.com or through the report links that appear throughout Facebook. If you’re a business, go to Business Support Home to help verify if there are any issues with your business accounts. Learn more about Business Support Home.

SCAMS: One of the scams spreading malware is to inform you that your FB page is being deleted by Meta for ʻcopyright infringement.ʻ They will contact you via messenger. Donʻt click on the link. ITʻS A SCAM. You can ban the person on messenger and from your page.

We share posts from researchers, university medical centers, other organizations, physicians, as well as personal stories. What we don’t do is sell things.
