Meet our June Champion of Change: Dan Morhaim, M.D.

Not only does Dr. Morhaim bring over 40 years of clinical experience in Emergency and Internal Medicine, he also has a powerful track record of advocacy. As a longtime Maryland State Legislator, he championed policies that support both physicians and patients.

A member of the NBPAS Board of Directors, Dr. Morhaim has also played a key role in medical education and research as faculty at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Currently, he teaches at both George Washington University and Morgan State University.

This year, his guidance was key during the 2025 Texas legislative session, helping SB 2207 move swiftly through the process.

We’re proud to have Dr. Morhaim’s leadership and deep commitment to physician-led change.

NBPAS is NOW ACCEPTED at Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon!

This marks another meaningful step toward modernizing board certification requirements and offering physicians a choice grounded in clinical relevance and evidence-based standards.

With this update, we estimate that NBPAS is now accepted by 80-85% of BlueCross BlueShield plans nationwide.
