IIT and CHAD Care Services' partnership continues to expand Blind and Low Vision (BLV) Multi-sports Come & Try Days across the state.

Sports showcased at the Come & Try Days include Cricket, Golf, Netball, AFL, T-ball and Soccer, with plans to add more in the future.

The sessions are for anyone, whatever ability, age, or gender, and use adaptive equipment such as audio balls that emit a bell sound to help people locate their position.

Plus, sighted people can wear the Vision Aust simulation glasses to experience BLV sport in the same way people with vision impairment do, and interact with participants on a 'level playing field'.

As an all-ages, all-abilities, all-inclusive event, everyone is welcome to join in, connect and learn in a safe, supported, and social environment. It’s all about having fun with friends and family!

🇱🇰🌊 Sri Lanka | CHAD Care Services — Flood & Cyclone Relief Initiative

Sri Lanka has been deeply affected by the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwa — leaving many families without basic necessities. Lives have been disrupted, shelters damaged, and many are now struggling to recover.

Starting 14th December, CHAD Care Services will step forward with a relief mission. We aim to support over 70 families by distributing dry rations, essential items, school books, and sanitary supplies to help rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

We will be visiting multiple affected locations — including areas in Katana, Gampaha and more — to make sure help reaches those who need it the most.

During his vacation in Sri Lanka, Chathura Dissanayake, together with his family and a dedicated group of volunteers, will be organising and carrying out this project on the ground — delivering essential support directly to impacted communities.

CHAD Care Services is proud to announce a new collaboration with Family Based Care Tasmania, a trusted not-for-profit organisation registered for Aged Home Care Packages and Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) services across Tasmania.

🤝 What This Means

Through this partnership, CHAD Care Services will expand into Aged In-Home Support and CHSP services — ensuring older Tasmanians can continue living safely, comfortably, and independently at home.

💙 Important to Note:

Our NDIS services remain completely separate and continue as usual.

This collaboration is solely focused on aged care support and CHSP, delivered with the expertise and guidance of Family Based Care Tasmania.

Together, we’re combining local experience, compassion, and quality care to better serve our community’s growing aged care needs.

Blind and Low Vision (BLV) Multi-sports Come & Try Days

IIT and CHAD Care Services are excited to announce their new partnership, and CCS’s sponsorship of three Blind and Low Vision (BLV) Multi-sports Come & Try Days across the summer months.

IIT CEO, Phillip ‘Sunny’ Drury, reflected on the sponsorship...

“CCS’s generous support will expand the reach of our statewide program and allow more sports to be offered at each event. We simply can’t stage these open public sessions without supportive funds to cover costs, and now, we can confidently grow our sports portfolio by purchasing the customised BLV sports equipment we need.”

Sports showcased at the BLV Come & Try Days include Cricket, Golf, Netball, AFL, and Soccer, with plans to add more in the future. The sessions are designed specifically for people with vision impairment, using adaptive equipment such as audio balls that emit a bell sound to help players locate their position.

Our CHAD Care Services team – Chad, Meaghan and Peter – had the chance to meet Ron Defelice, Support Coordinator at Blueline.

Ron gave us a tour of Blueline Laundry, and it was amazing to see how involved the NDIS participants are in the day-to-day operations.

The workplace was organised, welcoming, and full of smiles. You could really feel the pride and happiness from everyone working there.

A big shoutout to Blueline Laundry everything you do to support the community and make it truly inclusive – we loved seeing it in action.
