The early signs of a heart attack don’t always feel severe.

A squeezing across the chest. A feeling of unease. It’s never too early to call 999 and describe your symptoms: http://nhs.uk/HeartAttack

****NEW COMMUNITY DEFIBRILLATOR NEWS****
I am pleased to confirm that there is another emergency defibrillator available for use by anyone who needs it.
It is located on the roadside wall of the Innerleithen Pipe Band building in Hall Street, Innerleithen (opposite the Fire Station).
The unit is slightly different to the others we have supplied in the area. There is a keypad locking mechanism on the front, however we have decided that NO CODE will be required to open the unit so this has been deactivated. The cover can be lifted, and the handle turned clockwise. This will open the door so the defib can be removed. An alarm will sound, but will silence once the door is closed again.
I would like to say a massive thank you to The Pipe Band committee members for allowing us to position this essential piece of emergency equipment on their premises. Their support and enthusiasm has been tremendous, and we are so grateful for this. Thank you folks!
And also, I need to thank Tim Reece, an electrician from Peebles for installing the unit. Tim has put up other defib units within the Borders, and was keen to help us too. Huge thanks to Tim for his support.

Please share this post and spread the word.

Thank you.
Angie Keay, Chairperson
