If I asked your team right now:
“What kind of signals does your manager send out?”
What would they say?
Would they tell me:
“She makes time for me. I feel like I matter.”
Or would it be:
“He’s always busy. His door’s closed. I never know if I’m interrupting.”
Most managers never stop to think about the energy they’re walking into a room with.
But it speaks volumes before they’ve even said a word.
I say this all the time in our Mental Health Awareness Training for Managers.
You’re always sending a signal.
The question is—do you know what it is?
Your energy. Your body language.
Whether you make eye contact or rush straight into tasks.
It all creates an experience for your team.
And if your team doesn’t feel safe, seen, or supported…
It doesn’t matter how great your strategy is. You’ll lose them.
So here’s your invitation this week:
✅ Be the calmest person in the room - and watch what shifts
✅ Ask one team member how they really doing - and don't fill the silence
✅ Don't wait for a crisis to check in - consistency builds trust
That’s what changes team culture.
If this is the kind of leadership you want to grow in your organisation, drop me a message. Let’s talk.
