It is simply awesome and the best decision I ever made. I currently work full time at a private, integrated preschool, but before that, I worked in early intervention and traveled to my students homes or schools.
Working with this population has been life changing. I’m certain these kids have made a much bigger impact on my life then I could hope to make in theirs. The amount of progress a child can make at such a young age is amazing to watch. The mind of a child is truly a sponge!
Helping my students (or my “babies,” as I lovingly call them,) find their voice gives my life meaning. Although their individual needs may be very different, the initial goal is always the same - to help each child communicate their wants and needs in a way that best suits them.
I believe in an open-minded, holistic approach to therapy.
Each child is different and there is no cookie cutter way to treat speech and language delays, but when a child’s motivations are driving sessions, I have found they are able to progress in a more effective manner. I am very passionate about spreading this message!
On this page, I hope to provide some strategies, answer some questions, and share some insights that I learn along the way. Even more importantly, I hope to spread some positivity.
