Have you ever noticed how we tend to hold others to a higher standard than we hold ourselves? We often expect the people in our lives to have it all figured out, to be finished individuals, while we give ourselves permission to change and evolve over time.

The truth is, we're all works in progress, and it's important to give ourselves and others the space to grow and change. Just like we wouldn't expect a child to be fully mature and developed.

We're all on a journey of self-discovery and growth, and it's natural to evolve and change over time.

So, let's embrace the idea that we're all unfinished individuals, and that we're all capable of evolving. Instead of judging ourselves or others for not being perfect, let's offer support and encouragement along the way. And let's remember that every step we take toward self-improvement is a step in the right direction! 😍

🌺 BE AN "EXPERIENCE" COLLECTOR! 🌺

While material possessions can bring us temporary happiness, it's the experiences we have in life that truly enrich us and leave a lasting impact.

Think about it - when was the last time you felt truly happy? Was it when you bought a new gadget, or when you spent time with loved ones, visited a new place, or tried something new and exciting? It's likely that the experiences brought you more joy and fulfillment than any material possession ever could.

While material possessions can bring us a momentary sense of satisfaction, this feeling is often short-lived. The excitement of buying something new quickly fades, and we're left searching for the next thing to buy to fill the void.

So let's focus on collecting memories, not things. Let's make time for the people and activities that bring us joy and fulfillment, and let's create a life that's rich in experiences. Hi, I'm Dr. Elefant-Yanni, Senior Psychotherapist at Psychology Experts.

I've been a psychologist for over 20 years, helping people go through stress, anxiety, depression, and mental health disorders.

I've developed a set of well-being tools that I teach all of my patients. It gives them a better understanding of how they function and empowers them with their mental health.

As a therapist, my motto is "Enjoy Life & Carry On!" Because my job is to help my patients feel better and be able to move with their life.

I've worked with people from all backgrounds and ages, as well as couples in Switzerland, South Korea, and Singapore.

I've decided to offer all my consultations online so I may help the biggest number of patients, no matter their location or schedule. It's been amazing to see how the therapeutic bond is as strong online as in person.

🌱 Your body activation, which can be sleepy or alert
🌱A sense of how you feel overall, which can be good or bad

This last part shapes how we see the world. When things feel bad, we see the world as dark and scary. When things feel good, we see the world as bright and friendly. Our brains need to quickly decide if something is good or bad for our survival. This affects how we experience everything. 🌿

So rather than wanting to change others, work on what matters: YOU! 🥰

Pushing away those you love because you're afraid of losing them is a common defense mechanism, but it can do more harm than good.

It leads us to create conflicts where there were none, or worse to cut off people we really care about.

🤩 One of the greatest drives we have as human beings is the desire to make those we love proud of us. Whether it's our parents, our children, our partners, or our friends, we all want to be seen in a positive light by those closest to us. This can be a powerful motivator, driving us to work harder, strive for more, and be the best version of ourselves that we can be.

💡 Anger is often seen as a negative emotion, but it can actually be a sign of something deeper going on. When we feel angry, it's usually because we're hurting in some way. Maybe someone has hurt us or let us down, or maybe we're struggling with our own feelings of inadequacy or insecurity.

It's important to remember that anger is not the problem - it's just a symptom of a deeper issue. If we want to address our anger in a healthy way, we need to take the time to understand what's really going on beneath the surface. This might mean talking to a therapist or counselor, journaling, or simply taking some quiet time to reflect on our thoughts and feelings.✨

🌿 Once we've identified the root cause of our anger, we can start to work on addressing it in a constructive way. This might involve setting boundaries with people who have hurt us, practicing self-care and self-compassion, or seeking out support from friends and loved ones.

🌿A GRATITUDE MINDSET UPLIFTS YOU!🌿

This speaks to the importance of slowing down and taking the time to notice the beauty around us. Whether it's the colors of a sunset or the sound of birds chirping in the morning, there is so much to be grateful for if we take the time to appreciate it.

I include daily pleasures in my well-being toolkit with my patients, and this is one I definitely practice! The easiest for me is to look at the many plants in my house. I just love to see them grow and see how vibrant they are! 🪴🪴🪴

🪴 Let's strive to slow down just enough that we see how beautiful our life can be when we take the time to see it.

Our Story

Psychology Experts is a private clinical psychology service based in Singapore. We provide professional support and guidance to children, teenagers, adults, couples and families under the supervision of Dr. Elefant-Yanni. Our services include psychological assessment, counseling and therapy. We focus on the well being of our patients to help them address personal issues, difficult periods, anxiety and suffering in a safe and confidential environment. Our goal is to give patients the professional support to help them regain their ability to enjoy life again and to go on with their projects with renewed energy.

Dr. Veronique Elefant-Yanni is a Clinical Psychologist who works with children, teenagers and adults experiencing a range of issues, from emotional difficulties to traumatic experiences.

Dr. Elefant-Yanni has over 20 years of clinical practice with patients of all ages and cultures and has developed an approach around wellbeing, avoiding labeling and medicalization. Her philosophy brought her to study meditation in South Korea where she served the expat community and perfected her approach focused on creating balance for the mind and body. She recently moved to Singapore with her family and opened Psychology Experts.

Originally from Switzerland, Dr. Elefant-Yanni holds an advanced Master in Clinical Psychology and a Doctorate in Affective Sciences from the University of Geneva. She taught Clinical Developmental Psychology at the University of Geneva and trained students to give psychological assessments to public school children. She also worked at the children and adolescent psychiatric hospital of Geneva. There, she mostly helped children and teenagers who presented various types of functioning disorders or psychological issues, as well as their parents as it is often the case when addressing complex family difficulties.
