An expansion of Florida Autism Center
Fusion Autism Center is an expansion of the long-established Florida Autism Center that was founded in 2005 by Chryssy Moor, and serves the autism community with center-based ABA therapy. The organization employs a diverse and talented team of behavior analysts at each of its locations. We are proud to have several Ph.D. level employees and consultants on staff in addition to 67 BCBA’s and 15 BCaBA’s. All of our behavior therapists receive complimentary RBT training to advance their careers and maintain FAC’s reputation of ensuring the highest level of clinical quality across our organization.
The University of Florida Behavior Analysis Research Clinic (BARC) with Timothy Vollmer, Ph.D BCBA-D, BARC Clinical & Research Director, Kerri Peters, Ph.D., BCBA-D, Intensive Feeding specialist Vivian Ibanez, Ph.D., BCBA-D and FAC have established a collaboration that allows UF to provide clinical and research expertise as well as professional training and high-quality peer review for FAC staff to ensure on-going best practices happen at all FAC locations.
FAC provides treatment based on the basic principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, and has a specific focus on early, intensive behavioral intervention, verbal behavior, and social skills. ABA therapy at FAC is completely individualized. There are no cookie cutter, one size fits all, plans because each program is written to meet the individual needs of each child. A BCBA will design and oversee the program that involves the child’s skills, needs, deficits, interests, as well as family preferences. These are all used to determine treatment goals for the individual in different skill areas – everything from daily living skills to communication and language. Goals are adjusted as the child progresses and the BCBA will meet regularly with the family to help apply what is being done successfully in the center to the home environment. We are all on this journey with your child together and we recognize the importance of working together to support one another along the way.
FAC operates on the understanding that involvement and support of the special needs community is an integral part of our organization. We participate in local community events surrounding each of our centers and provide resource lists of other organizations in the area that support a variety of needs integral to a child’s development. FAC offers our caregivers continued training opportunities to advance their understanding of the principles of behavior analysis so they may support their child as he/she progresses.
