I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.
This is a beautiful quote by Bruce Lee that left me in awe when I first read it.
What it means is that even if someone knows 10,000 different kicks, but has only practiced each of them once, each of his kicks would be sloppy and slow, but a man who knows only one kick but has practiced it 10,000 times would have a kick so fast and powerful that it would be scary even to Bruce Lee.
The key takeaway is that often, in life, to develop a skill, it takes time and practice, and it is better to focus all your energy on perfecting a single skill than to try to learn many different skills at once, because then you won’t be able to do any of them properly.
However, once you perfect that one skill, feel free to pick up more, but never let yourself lose the skills that you already have 😀
