Nest Health Connections We're a corporate wellness company revolutionizing health + happiness in the workplace. Why is that? Too complicated? Inconvenient? Not interested? Intimidating?

After spending 20+ years in corporate America, Kristin Markey; mother of 3, wife, sales & marketing executive, yogi, outdoor enthusiast and overall health and fitness nut, decided she wanted to create and implement a corporate wellness program in which employees want to participate. Corporate wellness programs are not a new concept, yet the research still shows that only 24% of employees who are o

ffered a wellness program actually participate. Kristin has contracted with the best wellness professionals in Colorado to ensure the highest level of service. Her focus is to create custom programming for each client, analyzing once a quarter and maximizing participation. Not everyone is interested in working out in high impact or cardio training, so maybe those individuals learn how to lead walking meetings and make changes to their diet. Others may already have a fitness routine, but have high stress throughout the day and would benefit from a meditation practice. There are so many options to improve your physical and mental wellness throughout each day. If your employer has those options for you it makes it easier to say yes to good choices. Kristin’s high energy and enthusiasm motivates everyone around her. It’s not about just losing weight, it’s about feeling great mentally and physically and making healthy choices every day.

I wrote this month’s blog 😳

I’m usually behind the scenes curating wellness content—not writing it—but after using red light therapy to help heal a precancerous spot on my lip, I felt inspired to share a few thoughts.

This quick mid-year wellness trends post covers things like:
• Why red light therapy is getting so much buzz (hint: skin health, inflammation, cellular repair)
• The rise of analog wellness
• What’s working and what’s fading fast

Take a peek 👇

Would love to know what trend has you curious right now!

At Nest Health Connections, we’re all about meaningful connections—especially with the thought leaders who are reshaping how we think about well-being. 💡

This week, we hosted a virtual session on Zoom with Dr. Josh DeMorett, Doctor of Physical Therapy and founder of Tundra Peak Performance in Denver, CO.

In just 30 minutes, Josh delivered an engaging, down-to-earth presentation that helped our clients rethink pain. He demystified the many factors that influence it—and offered real, hopeful steps toward lasting relief and better understanding of the body.

💻 Whether online or in person, we’re proud to bring forward thinkers like Josh to our clients—because conversations like these spark change.

📍And of course—if you’re in Denver and looking for an incredible physical therapist, we couldn’t recommend Josh more. Please reach out!

Hi friends!
Next Sunday, I’m riding in the “Ride to End Alzheimer’s” in Fort Collins 🚴‍♀️💜

This cause means a lot to me—100% of donations go directly to research, and as many of you know, Alzheimer’s is a heartbreaking disease that affects far too many families.

🙏 If you feel called to give, I’d be so grateful for your support.
And… it’s not too late to join me on the ride! If you’re feeling adventurous, let me know!

Thank you so much! 💜

I am inspired by science and driven by determination to end Alzheimer's. Donate today and help advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer's.

To be awake is more than alert; it's being attuned, open, and grounded in what is. To be alive is more than joyful; it's letting life flow through you, in all its wild textures.

Our 2025 Awake & Alive Retreat took place last week in Nosara, Costa Rica and it exceeded all expectations.🥹 Through yoga, meditation, jungle hikes, horseback riding, sound healing, kayaking, swimming, and soulful connection, we moved, felt, and awakened together.

We left with full hearts, meaningful tools, and the most beautiful sisterhood. We’re still riding the high of it all and feeling immense gratitude for how it came together! If you have an interest in learning more about our retreats, please reach out! We are already thinking about next year! 💫💃🏼🧘‍♀️🐒

We’ve been hosting monthly cooking demos for the past few years to inspire our clients to get into the kitchen and eat real food.

As a self-proclaimed folk cook 👩‍🍳 I usually go with the flow—cooking what’s in season and using whatever I have on hand. But today, we baked… which meant measuring, precision, and patience!

I had the joy of being in my dear friend Courtney Ring’s kitchen, learning the beautiful basics of sourdough: how to start a starter and how to bake the most delicious loaf (topped with everything bagel seasoning—yes, please! 🥯).

The bread was so good, I’m now seriously motivated to start my own starter and share the process.
If you’ve got tips, I’d love them—let’s do this together! 🥖💬

Thank you, Courtney, for sharing your brilliance with our clients and bringing so much heart to the kitchen. ❤️

Team Nest in my kitchen — my favorite kind of day!
This week’s cooking demo was all about HERBS 🌿 — growing them, storing them, and (best of all) cooking with them. We shared simple tips and flavorful inspiration, including one of my favorite recipes (super green sun-dried tomato herb salad with crispy chicken peas).

Did you know basil is actually a natural mood booster thanks to its essential oils like eugenol and linalool? It’s not just delicious — it’s feel-good food! 😋

What’s your favorite herb to cook with? Let us know in the comments.

The world feels loud right now—politics, the economy, uncertainty—it’s a lot. I’ve felt the weight of it in my chest, in my sleep, in my breath. But tonight, I chose to pause and let the sunset remind me: fear is loud, but love is louder.

I’m choosing to lead with love. To root into what matters. To keep showing up with compassion, courage, and hope.

Even in the chaos, love is always an option. And tonight, that’s enough.

This is the first of many little grounding moments I’ll be sharing each week—a reminder that love, presence, and nature are always here to hold us. If you’re feeling the swirl too… you’re not alone. Let’s root into what matters, one breath at a time.

February is all about Heart Health! ❤️

For this month’s cooking demo, we’re making something extra heart-healthy—though, let’s be honest, all our cooking demos focus on real, nourishing foods that support heart health! This time, we highlighted how to minimize sodium by flavoring with herbs, spices, garlic, onions, and more delicious ingredients.

We made a veggie, chicken, and quinoa soup—a versatile, nutrient-packed meal you can easily customize based on what you have on hand. Swap kale for spinach, quinoa for brown rice, or toss in fresh herbs and extra veggies for your own unique twist.

I love making a big batch of this soup and enjoying it for lunch all week! Scroll through the images for the recipe, or find it on our website under the Content → Recipe section.

Do you have a favorite soup? Share it in the comments—I’d love to hear! 🍲✨
