And this beautiful quote on Gratitude by Melody Beattie is one of my favorites. I’m sure you have yours too including your very own that you've written!"

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.

Illusion. I woke
up to the reality
veils conceal my truths.
Mary Schoessler

Just when we think we know, with steadfast certainty, a truth—we receive a little visit from paradox. Maybe it arrives through the unveiling of a secret, new piece of quantitative data or a different perspective.

Can you find the ability to look at your preconceived truths as a faceted gemstone? Give truth the opportunity to move around with you, shifting with new enlightenment under varying rays of sunlight, revealing the sparkling beauty of something you never saw before.

Explore your truths today. Allow the unforeseen allure of seeing them in a new light emerge.

Thank you Evita Ochel for your lovely image.

Do you have remnants left from yesterday’s May Day Basket? Didn’t receive one? OK, let’s create one. Grab a container. Each day throughout the month of May, place an intention in it that will connect you to the roots of Sacred Joy: Consciousness, Compassion, Generosity, Gratitude or Grace.

Make it a pretty container because it’s going to hold some mighty beautiful things by the end of the month. That’s our intention for each of you!

Our thanks to Andreas Lischka for today's image!

May launches National Mental Health Month. According to National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI):

• 1 in 5 adults in the United States lives with a mental health condition.
• 1 in 25 (10 million) adults in the United States lives with a serious mental illness.
• 43.8 million adults in the United States face the day-to-day reality of living with a mental illness.
• Half of all lifetime mental health conditions begin by age 14 and 75% by age 24, but early intervention programs can help.
• 90% of those who die by su***de have an underlying mental illness. Su***de is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States, but su***de is preventable.
• The best treatments for serious mental illnesses today are highly effective; between 70 and 90% of individuals have significant reduction of symptoms and improved quality of life with the right treatments and supports.
• People experiencing mental health conditions often face rejection, bullying and even discrimination. This can make their journey to recovery longer and more difficult.

Imagine a world where people suffering from mental health illness were given the same respect and opportunities for treatment and healing that people with physical illesses receive.

Let us vow by this time next May, that will occur!

Porch smoking visits
reminisce friendships through death—
Grief-filled air breathes life.

How many times have you gathered on a porch, a deck, around a kitchen or living room table and told stories? Listened to the stories of others? We each have a story of grief, belly-shaking humor, poignant compassion, ashamed behavior, heroic moments, significant accomplishments…the list is endless.

Pay attention to someone’s story today. Allow it to breathe life into your own.

Happy Monday. Is it a happy one for you, one that promises high energy to launch a new week, joyfully ending one month and welcoming another? Or is it one that brought you dread, illness, worrisome uncertainty or unanticipated change? Maybe you woke up feeling lethargic from a robust weekend of too much activity or emotional overload?

You have two days left in April 2019. Hopefully, you can find something that tethers you to celebration as you bring this month to a close. If you’re like many of us, you’ve already lost sight of all that you’ve accomplished during the first quarter of 2019.

Use this last Monday in April to reward yourself with all that you’ve accomplished and endured. That might add some fuel to today to help you welcome it as—Happy Monday!

Thanks to Heiko Stein for the joyful photo!

Passion. We think of it as it relates to our life calling, how we find purpose in our work—what it is that brings our unique talents and gifts forth. We find passion in our quest for love. We use passion to convey our beliefs with conviction. That which motivates and drives us is fueled by passion.

Passion is the spark that lights our internal fire—that which ignites our sacred fire of life.

Ignite your passion today. Light that fire that sparks creativity and joy for your heart and soul!

Our egos have a way of capturing our attention through the word ‘perfection’. We’re told to let go of perfection, there’s no such thing as perfection, yet we’re bombarded with messages and images of expectation and perfection: the perfect skin, the perfect home, the perfect get-away. We’re in performance reviews that remind us we can do more, we can do better, implications that drive us to achieve standards of excellence. Translate: expectations of perfection. We’re on the receiving end of comments containing hints of judgment, reminding us we’re less than perfect—at least in someone else’s eyes.

Today, allow your spirit to overtake your ego. Find yourself in a state of perfect wholeness exactly as you are. Reduce expectations. Release perfection. Remove others’ judgments and opinions. Step into your wholeness where perfection already exists. As the essence of all that is you!

Today’s post is a snippet from Daily OM:

“There may be times when our hearts seem to contradict what we feel is the right choice. That is when we need to turn within and seek the counsel of the universe. Though we live in a world of dualities, the truth is not always right or wrong, and therefore there are no rewards or punishments, only consequences and outcomes that are open to interpretation. Since we know that the universe is also a place of infinite possibilities and potential for growth, we act in ways that leave us without regret, knowing we did our best with the information we had and leaving us to move forward confidently. By acting upon the choices arrived upon with the combination of your heart, mind, and spirit, you feel your truth resonate within the center of your being today and can make the right choice for you.”

May you make great choices today and release all regrets.

“ These people learned not from books, but in the fields, in the woods, on the river bank. Their teachers have been the birds themselves, when they sang to them, the sun when it left a glow of crimson behind the setting, the very trees and wild herbs.” Anton Chekhov

Happy Earth Day! Mother Earth is an amazing teacher. Today, respond to her lessons and proactively do something to demonstrate you are applying her teachings.

Rhymes. Interesting, how one word can make our minds freefall into a rhythm that interests and amuses.

What’s a word that allows you to find your joyful rhythm today?

Yesterday we talked about the pain caused by Mother Nature, others, ourselves—the journey we take to rebuild, stronger, hopeful, smartly—the journey from pain to power and peace.

Today we extend our hearts and resources to our friends in France who suffered great pain and loss yesterday as they watched their beloved Notre Dame engulfed in flames.

We unite with you to sacredly rebuild and restore—through worldwide powerful hearts of peace.

15/04/2019

Newscasters announce, “It was a weekend of violent storms for many.” It’s interesting how comfortable we are in describing Mother Nature’s behavior as violent. Her ability to generate pain is accepted because there’s nothing we can do to control her.

Perhaps you’ve been on the receiving end of a different type of violent storm. A storm created by another’s behavior or choices that you had no control over. That storm, or the storms you’ve endured throughout your life, may have left you with the remnants of deeply rooted emotional, mental, spiritual and/or physical pain.

We find our tenacity, our community of support and rebuild after Mother Nature’s painful, violent storms. We build better, stronger. We're thankful we’ve moved beyond that pain, hopeful it never happens again; we're smart enough to know there are no guarantees.

So it is we can do with the storms endured in our own lives, those we had no control over and those we wish we had controlled differently. We work to rebuild. It takes time, a lot of hard work, tears of release and trusting support. As we find the tools to take control, our pain morphs into power and peace.

May you find your power and peace today.
