Seventy years ago, the people of Albany came together to build a hospital. This week, that vision grew even stronger.

On Wednesday, September 24, we cut the ribbon on Mosaic Cancer Care - Albany — a new infusion space that brings cancer treatments closer to home for patients in Gentry County and surrounding communities.

This project was made possible thanks to our dedicated caregivers, Mosaic leadership and the generosity of community donors who contributed more than $230,000 through Mosaic Foundation - Albany and Mosaic Life Care – Philanthropy.

We’re proud to carry on the legacy of our founders by ensuring patients can receive high-quality cancer care right here at home.

During Caregiver Week last week, we also celebrated annual service awards. These awards honor caregivers who have shown dedication and loyalty to Mosaic. Service awards are given in five-year increments, beginning at five years of service. Caregivers who were part of Northwest Medical Center before its transition to Mosaic are also recognized for their total years of service. This year, caregivers with 5 to 35 years of service were celebrated at an afternoon gathering with their leaders. We sincerely thank them for their dedication and commitment to serving Albany and the surrounding communities.

Last week, caregivers from Mosaic Medical Center — Albany attended the 48th Annual Farm, Field and Family Day and Community Health and Resource Fair hosted at the Hundley-Whaley Extension & Education Center, University of Missouri Extension.

Ginger Summa, social worker, Paige Luke, dietitian, and Brittany Owens, LPN, provided essential information for attendees. They provided blood pressure checks, Advanced directive services and nutritional information.
