On August 23 we will have the first of two new moons in the sign of Virgo. The first one is exactly on 0 degrees. Then on September 21, the Sun and Moon will meet again, this time at 29 degrees of Virgo. This doubling up happens every 29 months.

Virgo, the corn goddess, is associated with the harvest, a time in the northern hemisphere where fruits and vegetables are abundant and coming to the end of their season. Individuals born with planets in Virgo are hard workers, practical, stable and nurturing. More than any other zodiac sign Virgos pay attention to details. This can result in excellence, perfectionism, and a hyper critical nature.

As many of you know, on July 8th when Uranus entered Gemini for the first time in 84 years, we collectively dipped a toe into a new astrological era. For the next couple months, and then permanently next spring, all the outer planets (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) will be fire and air signs (Aries, Gemini and Aquarius).

Are you interested in learning more about how grief and loss show up astrologically? Using client charts from the last ten years of research, Moonrabbit (Astrologer Moon Zlotnick) will present indications of loss in the natal chart and how eclipses and transits can set off natal patterns to indicate a major loss. Each major loss carries the potential for a personal crisis along with tremendous healing potential. This lecture will study death through both lenses.

The presentations will be held in webinar format and will be recorded.

Note: The Zoom link will be mailed the day before the presentation.

23/06/2025

We are on the cusp of a two-week period that invites us to feel better. Hard to imagine, I know, but bear with me. On Wednesday, June 25th the Sun, Moon and Jupiter come together in loyal, protective, nurturing, and family-oriented cancer. Jupiter is the planet of optimism, of good fortune and expansion. When Jupiter contacts other planets, in this case the Sun, consciousness, and Moon, emotions, we feel hopeful, grateful, and emotionally wealthy. Jupiter is “exalted” or jubilant in Cancer and can remind all of us of happy events from the middle of 2013 to 2014. Twelve years ago, our entire coast to coast family gathered once in June to celebrate our youngest’s’ B Mitzvah, and again in November to celebrate my long-awaited marriage to Mindy. True blessings from Jupiter in cancer.

New Moons are a time to plant seeds, to set intentions, and let go of what’s complete. The zodiac sign of cancer, from June 21-July 21, in the northern hemisphere corresponds with high summer, following the longest day of the year, summer solstice. We are in a cosmic time of rich fertility and greater potential for emotional connections; a time of long summer days, tending the garden, going to the farmer’s market and gathering with chosen family. Even though we’re in the midst of tragic wars, political polarization, strife and uncertainty, take a moment during the last week of June to enjoy your life and spend time with those you love. The Sun, Moon and Jupiter all sextile pragmatic Mars in Virgo, which supports getting things done as well.

While the Sun and Moon are astrologically supported, Saturn and Neptune are conjunct in very early Aries, making a square or stressful aspect to the luminaries. Saturn can ground and limit our good feelings, while Neptune will often envelope us a dreamy haze. We may find setbacks, confusion and frustrations during the last week of June as well.

On July 8, 2025, Uranus will make its initial entrance into Gemini for the first time in 84 years. It will stay in Gemini until November 9th when it retrogrades, and then returns to Gemini April 27, 2026, staying there until August 2032. It is possible that some of the financial uncertainty happening now as Uranus leaves Ta**us representing finances, will even out by summer 2026. During this seven-year period we can expect to see radical innovations in all forms of communication, transportation, AI and technology.

If you were born with planets in early degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces you are most likely to experience exciting and unforeseen changes in the next couple of years. On a personal level Uranus is known as the planet of break-up, break-down and break through. This planet can bring changes that in the moment, are unsettling and even unwanted, but after the dust settles people tend to feel more authentic along with a sense of more personal freedom.

23/05/2025

Hello everyone,

Happening on May 26, at 6 degrees of Gemini, the new moon will highlight and emphasize all forms of communications, since Mercury the ruler of Gemini is also conjunct the luminaries. Gemini loves to share ideas, is quick-witted, mentally flexible, endlessly curious, and a bit scattered. The end of this month is a good time to actively brainstorm about your life, take a short trip, work on your book, article or podcast, network, and plan fun social gatherings.

Overall, this appears to be a favorable new moon for all facets of communication, since the Sun, Moon, and Mercury all trine Pluto in Aquarius. Gemini energy on its own can be erratic and distractable, but the easy supportive contact with Pluto brings focus and depth to mental pursuits, thoughts and conversations. Also, the same planets in the trine, the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Pluto, are in a sextile, a creative exchange, with Saturn and Neptune in Aries. This combination of air, planets in Gemini and Aquarius, interacting with planets in the fire sign of Aries suggests a highly energized period of creative thinking, building new social connections, and general excitement about new possibilities.

On May 25, Saturn will enter Aries for the first time since April of 1996, testing the waters until September 2, 2025, when it retrogrades back into Pisces. Because Saturn so often represents our goals and ambitions, you may find yourself revisiting some important pieces of your life from almost 30 years ago. On February 15, 2026, Saturn will finally move into Aries until April 2028. The period from the end of May until early September when a slow-moving planet enters a new sign and then retrogrades out of it, acts like a short trailer for an upcoming movie. You can’t see the entire movie yet, but you can get an idea of what it’s about. Because Aries represents action, initiative and rising to the challenge, we may all get inklings of new energy and where to channel our inner warrior.

Unfortunately, Neptune, the ruler of Pisces representing a dreamy, watery, and more internal or spiritually focused energy has been in early Aries since March 31, 2025, and will travel with Saturn until April 2026. This creates a major dissonance. By the time Saturn returns to Aries, this fall, Neptune will be there too, making it harder to stay grounded and focused. Focus on small steps towards your goals and take time to refresh your inner life.

Hello everyone,
We’re in for some big changes over these next weeks starting with Mars moving into fiery Leo along with Mercury in Aries. These two energies represent passionate, creative, and enthusiastic action and thought. We’re in a good time to move from dreams, and fantasies to action and expression. The April 27th new moon in Ta**us accentuates the “new” cycle and brings the pragmatic energy of “the builder” into play, supporting your new projects. The unpredictability of the eclipses is winding down and almost all the retrogrades are behind us, except for Pluto on May 5th. On April 30th Venus will enter Aries following Neptune which entered Aries March 29, and preceding Saturn moving into Aries on May 25th. This is a dramatic shift in energy, from water to fire, from passive to active, and from universal to singular.

Ta**us energy is fixed earth, representing a drive for stability and security that is so important to people with Sun, Moon and Ascendant in Ta**us. Making plans, proceeding with caution, thinking things through, and seeking comfort all represent the earth side of Ta**us. Fierce determination, working hard with great focus are manifestations of the fixed element. Because of the fixed energy, people with strong Ta**us in their charts can struggle with change, spontaneity, and sheer stubbornness.

On the day of the new moon the luminaries are making a square to Pluto and to Mars, creating a T square energy of destabilization and confrontation. These two planets, Mars and Pluto have been creating oppositions since November 6th, 2024, starting just after the presidential election, due to the retrograde motion of Mars. Mars energy brings resistance and push back, and can also represent anger and fighting, while Pluto tends to intensify all issues around who has power. Because this aspect begins to wane by the full moon on May 12th, we may notice some shifts where what has looked like the absolute power of the current administration starts to crumble.
