Surrender doesn’t mean giving up. It means softening into what is, not because you like it, but because you’re ready to stop fighting reality.

Sometimes, the greatest change begins with radical acceptance. Not the resignation kind, but the courageous kind:

This is what’s true right now. And I can be with it.

In that presence, something opens, and the next step forward reveals itself.

I’ll always remember a man I supported when I was working in mental health, before becoming a body worker.

He had severe mental health challenges and I had campaigned to get him psychotherapy on the NHS. It was useful, to a point. However, one day he came away from the session saying he’d never seen his therapist’s legs.

His therapist was always sitting behind a desk, he never shook hands and all the interactions were very structured - he’d never actually been a real human being in their sessions. That’s a very strange way of interacting, which can actually feel very unsafe.

When working with anxiety, pain and trauma - whatever modality or framework we’re using - it’s important to create safety for our clients. Lots of small actions can add up to create a big feeling of safety.

Thanks to Stephen Porges for this great quote.

When access to nature is limited, because of time, location, or life circumstances, there are still ways to bring nature’s regulating presence into your world.

A photo of a tree, the sound of birdsong, or a short video of waves can offer a gentle signal to help soothe your nervous system and restore peace to your being.

It can feel impossible to see beyond your own perspective when you’re in conflict with another person. And yet, if you zoom out from the heat of the moment (and sometimes you need to zoom wayyy out), you might find that you can find a point of connection through a shared value.

Try asking these three questions the next time you’re in an argument or a tough conversation.

Life flows as a continuum — every past version of you was never wasted, each one carried you forward and shaped the strength you stand on today.

Healing starts with reconnecting to your truth!
When your voice was silenced in the past, it can feel unfamiliar to trust yourself again. But the path to recovery lies in strengthening your ability to self-validate.
It's about trusting that your thoughts, feelings, and experiences are valuable - no matter what others say.
This is your journey to reclaiming your worth and learning that you don't need permission to be seen or heard.
Start small: Look for moments where you can choose to listen to yourself - whether it's standing firm in a boundary, expressing a need without second-guessing, or even just acknowledging your feelings without dismissing them.
These are all ways to trust your inner voice. - Amy Fiedler
