Run MI 83 Running a 5k in every county in the great state of MICHIGAN I started running in 2011 to lose the weight I gained from my 2nd pregnancy.

In April 2014, after my 3rd child, I ran a 5k and became hooked. I began running a 5k a month. In April of 2016 I decided to expanded this goal a bit farther and am trying to run a 5k in each county in Michigan. There are 83 counties in Michigan including the Upper Peninsula. I have met some great people, seen some awesome things, and ran some great 5k's this year by expanding my goal. I am looki

Another race in another county to help finish Ziva’s list. 81/83 for her. Wolverine Lake 5k. Fun course- race was delayed to let a down pour pass- thankfully only a few minutes. We finally sat down & went through Z’s races. She has 5 counties to complete yet. Our goal is to have her finished before summers end. Today we ran a new County Muskegon- we both took 2nd in our age groups & got fun hats. The shirts are wonderful- ombré- yay!!

June 30th we ran in Rifle River Rec Area. This park was huge. We stayed to the paved roads, but there is so much to explore & enjoy here. Not much in the area- the town it is near had a main road (1 normal 2 lane) and 3-4 cross streets, that were all dirt. No real business’s, a historic marker of a building but that was it.

2 runs today! An in person race this morning in Beverton- Firecracker 5k. Humid, course was on road & a trail- some it was really rough & hard to run. The field was tough. Most place winners were under 27 mins. Ziva took 3rd in her age group. The rest of us were happy with our finisher medals.

This afternoon we went to Au Gres to run Arenac County. Another very hot & humid race. Thankfully it was virtual & we could go slower. 83 counties & over 80 complete!!

Run #2 this week was in Munsuning - Pictured Rocks Road Race. Very humid on Sunday during race. Course was fun- out, turned into a loop & then back the way we started. Reid finished really fast, also didn’t run on the ATV trail- which was good, because it was super rough & sone big hills, including Stink hill. Ziva & I both placed in our age groups. Our awards are polished stones from Lake Superior. Super cool!! Alger county complete!

Another vacation spent running in new counties. Friday was in Escanaba- for Stroke awareness 5k Run/Walk in memory of Ardith Felzke. This race was the week before we were there, but we registered & we’re able to run the course on our own. Very nice flat course & great views. Thanks Tiffany Kleiman for holding our packets, going ing over the course & the great pictures!!!
