It’s amazing how patient you are teaching a 2.5 year old how to drill a nail. I love watching you teach and love on our little guy. Happy Father’s Day to you . (Please just keep the drilling injuries to a minimum) 😉

It’s Mother’s Day. 💐

Although today is a great to celebrate Moms, this day care stir up mixed emotions for some, including myself.

I haven’t spoken to my own mother since before I found out I was pregnant with Dylan. And even before then, my Mother’s Day social media tributes weren’t lengthy. Watching others boast about how their mother’s are their everything, best friend and someone they couldn’t live without, was always something I longed to know what that was like. It seemed like I was really missing out on something special.

In becoming a mother myself, I can’t understand why any mother would choose not to speak their child, especially for no reason! 😲

This isn’t meant for anyone to feel sorry for me. It is to bring awareness that this holiday can also bring up negative emotions for some. This day can be triggering for many others as well.

Those who have lost their own mothers
Those who wish so badly to become mothers
Mother’s who have lost children
Those who have strained relationships with their mothers or children
Moms who are struggling emotionally, mentally, financially

In saying all of this, I want to mention what I’ve learned about myself as Mother. Something I never expected and am truly grateful for.

Dylan teaches me to appreciate the little things while for sure makes me angry over little things too.

I think I yell too often and lose my temper a lot (toddlers 🤷🏻‍♀️?)

I often feel like I’m not doing enough as a mom or letting too much go (screen time)

He is rather attached to me and to be honest I’m just as attached to him.

I currently hear him saying Mommeeeeee in the next room and it makes me so happy to be greeted by his little face every morning. (Maybe a little too early but ya know)

Today I honor all the Moms in the world, even the ones who aren’t biological moms to human babies. We are all mothers in some way and should treated as such.

I also couldn’t be a great mother without James who is my biggest supporter and partner.

Wishing you all a day of love (and foot massages) 💕

And this is what I like to call...🥁

The lazy girl’s dinner! 💁🏻‍♀️

As you may know, cooking is not my favorite thing to do. So I like to find quick and easy dinners to satisfy the whole family. 👨‍👩‍👦

My favorite trick? To use frozen foods! 🥦

Frozen veggies are actually considered more nutritious since they are picked when they are ripe and flash frozen. Fresh vegetables that are picked out of season is typically picked before they’re ripe.

For this dish I used bagged frozen quinoa with veggies, frozen broccoli and frozen rice.

I tossed it in a pan, put some water in and covered it on medium heat to steam the food.

It cooked for about 10 minutes, I added spices before taking it off the heat.

Then I threw it in the bowl, added some olive oil and avocado and voila!

This was suuupper simple, tasty and healthy. You can add any protein to this dish. (James added chicken)

What’s you’re favorite quick dinner? ⬇️

We laugh, we fight, we don’t always have it together, but we always have each other. I’m not one for Hallmark holidays, but I don’t mind giving extra love to these two today. ❣️

Think about this. 🤨

Our car is broken, we invest money to fix it. 🚗

Our roof is leaking, we invest money to fix it. 🏡

When things in our lives have value, we invest in them to keep them going and in good shape.

When it comes to ourselves, well, dead last sounds about right when it comes to investments.

I realized last year it was time for me to stop investing time and money in online shopping and start investing in myself.

So I hired business coaches, health coaches, and am working on developing myself in all areas (world class pianist to be exact 🎹). It’s not a smooth road. I find myself still getting lost in the IG scrolling some days. But I re-direct and keep trying.

This year, take time to invest time and/or money in YOU. You are your greatest asset.

If you want to develop a new hobby or skill, invest in a course. If you’re health is off track, invest in a health coach (oh hey, I know a good one, Me! 💁🏻‍♀️) if you’re business needs some tweaking, invest in a business coach. Go to the spa, buy the fancy and expensive hand massage gun (cause I am!)

Invest in the best, YOU.

What is something you plan on investing in for yourself in 2021? ⬇️

What. A. Year. 🤯

2020 could be summed up in a lot of words but I’ll choose “introspective” as one of mine.

I learned a lot about myself this year.

What I am (and not) capable of. What I can and can’t tolerate.
What my patients tolerance is and should be. 😬

I also started asking for help. I hired business coaches and seeked out different holistic health professionals. I realized I couldn’t do it all in my own anymore. Let me tell you, it was worth every penny.

My business coaches helped get me out of my comfort zone, showed me a path true to me and reminded me that people need the health coaching services I provide. (More to come on what I’m offering in 2021)

In the month of December, I felt the healthiest I have all year in a lot of ways but mostly physically. I didn’t get sick all month! In 2020, I was sick 8 out of 12 months, so that’s an accomplishment! I took charge of my health by getting help with it. I hired a my own health coach, Acupuncturist and naturopath!

I have no resolutions for 2021. I am easing into it with goals I’ve been working on in 2020. Here are a few.

Less talk, more action
Less social media, more of being present
Foot massages. Lots of ‘em.
Intuitively listening to my body
Read more books, put what I learn into action

May 2021 be the year we all hope it be, by us not watching it go by, but by taking action and asking for help when we need it.

Shout out to my awesome business coaches-

Tell me what you hope for in 2021! ⬇️

A Christmas (Birthday) Story🎄

"Oh wow, you're born on Christmas? That sucks" This is what I commonly hear when I tell anyone my birth date. I can honestly say that is does not "suck".

Growing up, I always had a birthday party that wasn't always well attended when it was planned too close to Christmas. Usually being held at the Palace skating rink in Philly. My parents would get me extra birthday gifts and Santa always brought me a birthday cake on Christmas! How special is that?

As an adult, I make sure I still have birthday parties every year (my friends make fun of me because I'm the only one who does this. Yolo.)

I typically celebrate with a birthday brunch or dinner, a few have been pretty memorable for all. I love celebrating birthdays because it is a gift not everyone is given.

On Christmas Day itself, it is always the happiest day of the year. Not only is it the merriest day but combined with my birthday and being around friends and family, I couldn't ask for a better birthday.

This year will be less jolly since I won't be seeing all of my favorites but I will just steal extra kisses from Dylan to make up for it.

Since there isn't any birthday brunching happening this year, I figured I would reminisce of birthday bashes of Christmas past. (Including some old little Laura pics)

What is one birthday you’ll never forget?
I hope everyone enjoys their Christmas! 🎅🏼

It happens to the best of us 😣
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We have a great idea, thought or motivation and then bam, we are hacked! We often get hacked by our own limiting beliefs and/or the many digital distractions that surround us daily.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I impulsively bought this book last weekend on . I can’t remember where I saw it recommended (wine..?🤷🏻‍♀️). But when I received it, I knew it was what I needed to read.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I am the queen of distraction.👸🏻. A human squirrel if you will. 🐿
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Besides being pulled by digital distractions, my mind jumps around often (what time is going to start raining exactly tomorrow? I’m not joking, these are my thoughts). Then throw in limiting beliefs, well now I’m unproductive and possibly even shut down and overwhelmed. Can anyone relate to this? 🙋🏻‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This book is designed as a daily workbook to help you work through the things that hold you back from your best self. I’ll report back on how well it works for me!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Does anyone have any good “hacks” to limit distractions and limiting beliefs? Drop them in the comments! ⬇️

Thankful 💛

For these two👨‍👦

For the love and support of family and friends 👯‍♀️

For health 🥑

For my community in business 💃🏻

For the winemakers in Loire Valley 🍷

Although there is so much we would like to have this year, there is so much to be thankful for. I especially needed this reminder today.

I hope you all have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving with those you love. 💜

What are you thankful for this year?

This. ⬇️

There really is no caption needed with this one.
Taking care of ourselves, physically and mentally is SO important.

What we ingest, physically and mentally, means so much to how our bodies function in sickness and in health.

I do not claim to know it all and I am a work in progress when it comes to my own health.

Knowledge is power and taking care of ourselves and each other is what the world needs most right now.

If you haven’t already, go sign up for my FREE “How to boost your immunity” masterclass.

The virtual meeting is Tuesday 11/24 at 7pm EST.

You WILL learn something new and you WILL feel more empowered with your health after it’s over. Link is in my bio to sign up!

Are you suffering from covid anxiety? 🙋🏻‍♀️

I honestly am. With the weather getting colder, and the holidays upon us, I’m feeling nostalgic of years other than 2020.

How am I coping? Truthfully, it’s day by day.

I make sure to do something I enjoy every day even if it’s just watching . (Hi, Moira)

I spend time with those I love, especially D man who drives me crazy but he’s so damn cute.

I get outside in the sunlight which is difficult during the winter but it’s essential.

I am trying to mediate more, well, trying to do a lot of things more but also giving myself grace when all I need is not more but less.

Let’s all be more kind to ourselves and others during this time. We are all fighting battles, big and small.

How are you doing? 🧐

Cheers to the weekend! 🥳
