Emotional lability is a hallmark symptom of BPD, and it's one of the most distressing and impactful features for individuals with the disorder and those around them.

Individuals with BPD often experience incredibly swift and drastic changes in their emotional state. These shifts can occur within hours or even minutes, and often don't seem proportionate to the precipitating event (or sometimes there's no clear external trigger at all).

Intense joy can quickly turn into deep despair, overwhelming anger can dissolve into intense anxiety, or sudden irritability can give way to profound feelings of emptiness or shame.

The emotions experienced are not just fleeting; they are often felt with extreme intensity. A trigger that might cause mild annoyance in someone else could lead to an explosive rage or profound sadness in an individual with BPD.

Once an emotion is triggered and amplified, individuals with BPD often struggle to regulate it and return to a stable emotional state. It's like their emotional thermostat is broken – it gets too hot too fast and then takes a very long time to cool down.

Sama ada bersongkok atau tidak, kerap bersujud di atas sejadah atau tidak, jika seseorang itu sudah ditakdirkan untuk menghidap penyakit mental, maka ia tetap akn berlaku. Kun Fayakun.

Kalau demam kita pergi klinik, tapi kenapa bila seseorang murung atau cemas, kita suruh dia ‘banyakkan solat’ dulu sebelum ajak dia dapatkan rawatan?

Iman penting. Tapi kesihatan mental juga perlukan sokongan perubatan, psikologi dan sosial. Jangan sempitkan tafsiran kerana ramai yang solat tak tinggal, tapi tetap berjuang setiap hari dengan emosi yang tak stabil.

Did you know that the MySejahtera app isn't just for tracking your COVID-19 status? It also offers a valuable mental health screening tool!

Here's how you can utilize the app to check in with your mental well-being:

Find MyMinda: Open your MySejahtera app and navigate to the "MyMinda" section. This is your gateway to mental health support within the app.

Screen Your Mental Health: Within MyMinda, you'll find the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS). Take the DASS questionnaire to get an initial assessment of your mental health. It's a quick and easy way to gauge your emotional state.

Book an Appointment: If the screening suggests you might benefit from professional support, you can conveniently book an appointment directly through the app.

Find Your Nearest Klinik Kesihatan: The app allows you to search for and select the Klinik Kesihatan (government health clinic) closest to you that offers mental health services.

Choose Your Date and Time: Pick a date and time slot that works best for your schedule to consult with a healthcare professional.

MySejahtera is making mental health care more accessible. Take advantage of this feature to prioritize your well-being. All the best on your healing journey!
