Sometime having tight hip flexors and an anterior pelvic tilt can limit your ability to touch your toes just as much tight hamstrings.

Good PT's help to eliminate your hamstring pain, great PT's help to not only eliminate the pain but solve the problem finding what is actually CAUSING the problem! Look at the whole chain.

The hamstring is not independent of what is above and below - there is interdependence through the whole region.

The drill shown in that video is a good way to get a temporary increase in your ankle range. A temporary increase. Most mobility drills give you a temporary increase and not a permanent increase. That means that a piece of the puzzling is missing.

It doesn't matter what our sport is, many of us have restrictions in our upper back. The nature of jobs that require mostly sitting & poor postural awareness contribute. Here's some great exercises to keep your upper back moving correctly. In running, opposing trunk rotation & hip extension are key to efficiency. If one is lacking, the body will cheat which ultimately leads to pain. (And this pain typically manifests down the kinetic chain!)
