✨Pre-Pesach Sensory Bin !✨

Got extra rice hanging around before Pesach? Turn it into a fun, hands-on sensory bin!

Use uncooked rice and add items that connect to the story of Yetziat Mitzrayim. Feel free to add a few drops of blue dye for a sea 🌊 colored bin. You can add in:

🐸 Toy frogs, fish
🌊 Blue + red beads or water beads
🧱 Lego bricks (building pyramids)
👶 Baby in a basket (Moshe)
🦁 Animal figurines (wild animals, cattle, etc.)

🎨 You can also have your kids color some dry pasta with markers and toss it in for extra texture, color, and fun!

Scoop, pour, sort, and play while retelling the story in your child’s own words. It’s meaningful, festive, and hits all kinds of developmental goals—fine motor skills, language, sensory play, and more.

💡 Try hiding frogs or beads and turn it into a search-and-find game!

Purim Tip: Make the Day Predictable! 🎭📅

Purim is full of excitement, but all the costumes, treats, and schedule changes can feel overwhelming for kids. A simple visual schedule helps them know what to expect, keeping the day calm and fun!

✅ For younger kids – Create a visual schedule with pictures or icons.

✅ For older kids – Have them help write out or draw their own schedule!

✅ For sensory-sensitive kids – Remember to bring along supports like noise-canceling headphones for loud parties or Megillah reading (hello Haman!) 🎧

🕎 After lighting the menorah, gather some blankets and pillows at a safe distance away from the candles, to build a calming tent!

🧸 Bring in favorite stuffed animals, fairy lights, books, or Chanukah decorations or toys.

🎶 Play soft, relaxing music.

👀 Notice and discuss how the candles look and smell (or sound!)

🫶 Enjoy this perfect way to slow down and connect!
