Some period pain is normal, but pain that interferes with your life is NOT.

"It takes, on average, 8-12 years from first symptoms to diagnosis (and may only be diagnosed as part of an infertility workup, for those who never had symptoms). This may be in part because so many doctors are quick to put their patients on hormonal birth control. Birth control may successfully mask painful symptoms, but does not actually treat the underlying issue. Laparoscopic surgery is the only definitive way to diagnose endometriosis, silent or otherwise."

I've been getting more questions about the Oura ring for charting temperatures, and my main complaint with it is that you have to pay for two subscriptions before you can see the actual temperatures! As far as research goes, I always like to jump to the study limitations:

"Study limitations include the small sample size and high variability in the women’s health characteristics. In addition, the Oura ring temperature sensors were not calibrated prior to the study and oral daily temperature measurements were not necessarily taken at the same time of day for all participants. The results from this study must be validated with a larger sample size to have generalizability. Furthermore, the fact that the health tech company that makes the Oura ring provided the funding and devices for this study may contribute to biased results."

Bottom line, it might be helpful, but we'll have to see more research!

It's still summer, but fall starts on September 22nd, and that's my next online group class, as well! Class time is 8pm ET.

Just a few spots remain in that September class, with the next opening on October 6th at 8pm ET.

We we move into the fall and winter, I will only be offering one online group class per month to make room in my schedule for some more in-person offerings! Take advantage of these classes before they fill up!

It's good to be back into a routine after maternity leave! Even if it's an odd routine, with all the kids home from school, nowhere to go, and nothing to do but go for walks and do everything in the virtual world!
