Texas Culture Change Coalition (TxCCC) Transforming the Culture of Long-term Care in Texas.

Culture Change aims to move towards a person-centered approach that promotes a person's quality of life. Towards this end, TxCCC strives to:
- Appreciate the uniqueness of each individual and provide individualized care.
- Offer input and choices to residents that demonstrate dignity and respect for individuals.
- Create a home environment.
- Recognize the potential for growth.


- Empower direct caregivers to make decisions with the resident.
- Have all staff involved in the resident's life that support mutual well-being.
- Foster the development of reciprocal relationships between residents, caregivers, family and community.

Alzheimer's Texas has another Caregiver Conversation on the calendar!

Join them on Thursday, February 27th at 3:30pm. Clinical social worker, Joan Asseff, LCSW-S, facilitates each Caregiver Conversation meeting, including relevant discussion questions to help attendees share experiences, barriers, strategies, and much more. These supportive and solution-focused conversations are open to ALL caregivers and loved ones caring for those living with dementia. Register today!

The Texas Board of Nursing, Texas Nurses Association, and Texas Organization of Nursing Leadership, announced that registration is open for the upcoming 2024 Nursing Summit entitled, The Future of Nursing in Texas: Stakeholders Moving Towards Alignment to be held on April 22-23, 2024, in Austin at the University of Texas Commons Conference Center. The purpose of this event is to provide an environment for nurses in academia and practice to engage in conversations that help to create innovative opportunities to increase quality education, that produces competent graduates that transition into safe practice, while embracing a changing nursing environment.

Representatives from various state nursing organizations representing academia and practice will participate in this summit. Between the two days, there will be various presenters and panels that will discuss topics to inform conversations between registrants who will participate in a World Café meeting format.
Topics will include:
• Nursing education and its relation to outcomes in healthcare
• Academic-practice partnerships and their effect on student readiness
• Technology in nursing education and practice
• Innovative healthcare deliveries
• The state of the state of nursing
• Workplace environment
