Our Story
Bob is a cinematographer, actor, filmmaker, sound therapist and gong player. His connection with the healing properties of sound began over 20 years ago when he discovered the power of the didgeridoo. Some years later that passion was rekindled when he attended a gong bath and knew there and then it was his next path. He began his career as an actor 30 years ago and has had the pleasure of working in many of the worlds best theatres and theatre companies including the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. He has also directed many theatre shows. He has been working with masks for 28 years and has directed mask theatre and ran many mask workshops including at the actors center in London. He directed and taught mask in Comedy of Errors & Twelfth Night, for Propeller Theatre Company which ran in Londons’ west end and toured extensively around the world to great critical acclaim. He also taught mask technique and appeared in Lysistrata for Sir Peter Halls Theatre company in the west end. He is also skilled in the use of the smallest mask, the Red Clown Nose that he perfected in his time as a clown with Hoffmann Bros Circus. The mask is a very powerful transformative tool, a shamanic aid. It can be used in healing. Most commonly it is used in the theatre but Bob has discovered when it is coupled with the Gong it can give the player a deep connection and personal understanding. The mask is also a wonderful tool to create what Don and Bob are calling “Gong Theatre”.
