For decades, Shelli was a yo-yo dieter with an eating disorder — weighing over 300 pounds at her heaviest. Then about twelve years ago she'd had enough. Whenever I was dieting, I listened to whatever the diet told me to do.

Usually, that meant lots of water and no sugary drinks at all, unless they were labeled diet.

That left me feeling:
• restricted in my choices,
• trapped by food rules,
• and ultimately like there was something wrong with me.

Why couldn't I eat like a "normal" person?

Why do I have to follow all these rules?

Turns out, I learned I was a normal person and didn't have to follow anybody else's food rules at all. After that, I lost 174 pounds simply by listening to my body.
