What does the American public want to know about addiction? It depends on the type of addiction…

This study found 9 categories of questions people ask about addiction—from treatment and prevention to stigma and drug policy.
But the most common topics varied by addiction type:
• Alcohol & gambling: Clinical course and symptoms
• Cannabis & co***ne: Consequences and impact
• Opioids & general addiction: Treatment and prevention

Across all addiction types, stigma and discrimination were the least asked about—despite being prominent barriers to care for some.

More in the Recovery Bulletin (link in bio).
