We know, saying “Happy World Mosquito Day!” Doesn’t exactly roll of the tongue.

But days like these are important in the health and medicine world!

Thanks to the study and work of Sir Ronald Ross, a discovery was made in 1897 that revolutionized scientifically the way we understand mosquito-borne diseases. Diseases that to this day affects millions across the world.

One person can make all the difference and it’s thanks to individuals like Ross that have made medical treatment more possible for such a wide spread issue.

So, while it may sound odd, here’s to raising more awareness about mosquito-borne diseases. Make sure to cover up, use your bug spray, and be safe and healthy out there Utila! Happy World Mosquito Day!
