The Toxic Empath (excerpt from "Astrology, and the Narcist and The Empath") 1st draft preview.
I’m working on a Book titled “The Narcissist and the Empath in the Astrological Chart” and had a client who “took me to school” and taught me what a “toxic empath” was and how they present in the astrological chart. I saw it in her chart, but didn’t expect to get a real-life experience of the behaviors and actions and how that looked and felt in the real world!
This personality presents themselves (and likely is) as deeply wounded! They are so sensitive that they see everyone as a potential tyrant out to get them. They are often bitter about life and all the abuse they have endured. This is very true in the client’s case. She contacted me and kept me on the phone for over an hour and a half, telling me how her daughter, sister, mother, landlord, and ex were attacking or hurting her, and how she felt so isolated and alone. She even told me how her psychological therapist had abandoned her.
In addition, over the following couple of days, she sent me over 30 emails containing long diatribes about conspiracies on how the government, secret cabals, anti-vaccine propaganda, and others were out to get her. In these emails and texts, she included a seemingly endless list of what she wanted to cover, which she would add to or amend. I told her I would cover what I could in the amount of time booked.
She booked an appointment for a 30-minute follow-up for August 25th, which turned out to be the day my mother-in-law died. So I called and emailed all my clients, moved her to a later date, and informed them that I had family health issues and needed to reschedule them until after September 2nd.
She insisted that I see her immediately, so I agreed to see her on Saturday, August 31st, even though it was my off time and time to spend with family (especially in light of the passing of my mother-in-law), but she pleaded and insisted.
As I mentioned above, she had only booked a 30-minute session, which I mentioned to her. She responded that it felt insufficient and she was sending me an e-mail Interac money transfer for the difference. I attempted to deposit it but got a “your answer to the security question was incorrect” message. The question was “What month is it?” So I answered “August.” I contacted her and she claimed that it showed as having gone through on her end. I went ahead in good faith and did a full hour session, assuming she would honor her word.
When it came time for the session on Zoom, she logged on but could only get audio, and her video didn’t come up, so I tried to troubleshoot with her. After a few minutes, she decided that it was okay, as she could hear me and see the shared presentation of her charts and profile notes on the screen.
When the session started, she took over, ranting, crying, and telling me how lonely and isolated she was and how nobody cared for her. I listened empathetically and tried to cover as much as I could. I managed to get to most of what I saw as crucial issues in her chart, some of which I’ll share when I cover the pertinent astrological factors in play.
At the end of the session, she continued to insist that the payment showed as received. She acted confused, saying she would talk to her bank on Monday. I then checked my bank again and saw that she had canceled the e-transfer just minutes after sending it. I am also convinced that the “security question” was deliberate as she had no intention of paying.
I then got a notification that the first 30-minute session fee was disputed, saying she had not received the product (failed to deliver) on PayPal. I read the dispute, and it was very mean-spirited! She also sent a text suggesting that I should retire as an astrologer and many other statements obviously lashing out at me.
