When your diet and exercise goals are to do them
So I like to put a spin on the one that defines life as that period of waiting between mealtimes. I sort of agree in that LIFE gives you quality time between meal breaks and you can even skip a meal a day because most of us definitely eat way too much.
In fact, we now know that the reason we get hungry even between the short space of time between breakfast and lunch and then again between lunch and dinner is not caloric deprivation. Nor is it protein deficiency. It is what is known as hidden hunger and this is all about micro-nutrients.
The curious thing about our food today is that there are plenty of calories and more than enough protein, even for vegans, if they do their research.

Take 5g before your usual breakfast. I take it just as it comes from the sachet ie as a powder. 1 medium heaped teaspoonful followed by a full glass of water. Take care to hold your breath so you swallow all the powder and do NOT breathe it in. Simple but it needs focus.
Alternatively, you can add the 5g of powder to a bowl of cereal with nut milk (not dairy as the proteins in milk irreversibly bind antioxidants degrading the benefits). Or add the powder to a fruit or vegetable juice or just to plain water.
Now comes the interesting part.
Do what you always do before the time that you would normally have lunch but pay close attention to how you feel before that time. Are you really hungry? Could you forego this (unnecessary) meal? Sure. If you are off with friends who are still suffering the Hidden Hunger you are treating, eating can be a habit more than a need.
I generally work through the day so I take advantage of the fact that LIFE gives you quality time between meal breaks. I also save around $10 to $15 a day by skipping a take-away lunch or I save time in not needing to make myself lunch in the mornings.
The day seems to fly by and while occasionally on very physically demanding days and at around 5pm I did feel that stomach churn from my metabolism moving over to burning fat.
It didn’t take long for me to adjust by having breakfast at 10am or so after which time, I could routinely make it to dinner time at 6:30 or 7pm. Easy.
And so if LIFE costs about $3 a teaspoonful, I can actually afford 3 a day if I wanted and I’d still be way ahead.
