Top tips for smashing your photoshoot. 📸✨
Whether it’s your first shoot or your tenth, these tips will help you feel confident, prepared and totally in control. Save this for your next big day!
1. Scope out the venue first
The space sets the vibe. Whether it’s a luxe studio or a gritty rooftop, knowing the lighting, colours and layout can help you plan your outfits, poses and energy.
2. Overpack (Yes, really)
Bring more outfits than you think you will need! Once you’re in front of the camera, your mood might shift or certain pieces may not hit the way they did at home. Options are your best friend.
3. Get a tan (Trust me!)
A natural glow or spray tan can make a huge difference. It brings out muscle definition, smooths the skin and adds that healthy radiance. Just don’t overdo it… aim for golden, not orange.
4. Comparison is the thief of joy 🖤
Don’t waste your energy comparing yourself to others at the shoot or online. Your unique vibe is your superpower. Focus on YOUR progress and presence.
5. Hydrate and snack smart
You will likely be moving around for hours. Keep water on hand and bring light snacks to keep your energy steady.
6. Practice posing ahead of time
Run through facial expressions and body angles in the mirror. Know your best side and get familiar with what feels natural vs. what looks good on camera (they’re not always the same).
7. Pack the extras
Safety pins, ni**le covers, hairbrush, lipstick, heels… The little things can make a big difference when you’re on set and need a quick fix.
8. Have FUN with it 💃
Shoots are about expression, energy and confidence. Don’t take it too seriously. Laugh, move, try new things… the best shots often come when you’re just being you.
