The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust Waveney Cycle Response Unit operates in and around the busy coastal towns of Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. By putting Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians on bikes we aim to get to our patients quickly by negotiating busy pedestrianised and traffic-calmed areas that slow our traditional Ambulance vehicles down. Since going 'live' on July 17th 2010 we have attended over 1300 emergency 999 calls and pedalled around 6000 miles!
