Our monkey mind can spin out of control without us even realising. Before long we are down a rabbit hole at 3.47 am caught up in a mish mash of entangled thoughts, worries, assumptions, speculations and made up stories. You mind is soooo clever at tricking you into believing all that is true. It even conjures up evidence to prove it's own lies!

But here's the thing, you don't have to engage with it!

Instead just watch it, from a distance, with curiosity, maybe even a chuckle. That mind can do some amazing tricks! But none of it means anything like we think it does. We are meaning making machines and we do it so well. But that's not our truth.

Your mind won't stop carrying on like a pork chop because that's just what it does - that's its function. You don't have to believe its content. When you notice your mind making up it's stories, stop and be in the moment - that just means take some big deep breaths in: in for 5, hold for 5, then out for 7. Repeat as long as you need to feel grounded again. Centered. Listen to what you can hear, feel your feet on the ground. Your mind won't stop. It can't. But you CAN do small things, like breathing, to loosen it's grip on your sense of wellbeing 🧘‍♀️

Every bit of hard stuff, every challenge, every crappy phase we might be going through is another golden shiny opportunity to develop our strength, courage and persistence to Keep. Going. Its a gift to grow, if we chose to see it that way. Nothing is permanent and lightness is coming. And just like a sine wave, it's impossible that life be always uphill. The downhill is around the corner. Thing is, its not according to our own timing, its that of God's timing, which is perfect. So, stay strong, hang on and trust the process 💪

I used to believe "doing my best" meant "be perfect" and I got sick, depressed and burnt out. Thank God for this difficult season though because it taught me to be kinder to me and to forgive myself for my daily mistakes. I am a recovering perfectionist and being ok with good enough for now will forever be a work in progress. Let's support and encourage one another in our daily efforts towards doing our best, don't judge another for their mistakes, and lets celebrate the tiny wins on this messy imperfect journey of life.

It's totally worth it to give this stuff up!👊

Since I stopped consuming sugar, grains and dairy just 2 weeks ago (Oh, and wine 😯) I am waaaay less tired all the time🙌, I have ZERO cravings👊, I can go for literally hours without even thinking about food 🤸‍♀️, I have been awake and alert enough at night to read to my daughter (normally I am so tired I can barely brush my teeth let alone read!😴), i can get up at 5.30 am and still kick on until 11 pm and do this for several consecutive days 🤩
.. AND my mood is much more stable, calm... and zenned! 🧘‍♀️🙏

Oh, and I have lost 1 kg and 1.5 cm off my waist. Those jeans might even see the light of day again. That's just in 2 weeks.

I thought I would go through carb flu. But I didn't. This could have been due to the supplements I am also taking to support my overall nutrient intake.

No detox symptoms At. All.

Just MORE ENERGY💥

My blood sugar levels are finally stable and happy 😁 because I quit the stuff that creates the blood sugar rollercoaster. 🎢 You seriously do wanna get off that ride. It's way more fun feeling grounded by high protein foods, veges, fruit and good oils and fats.

When your body is no longer frantically trying to deal with all those inflammatory foods and drinks it finally gets to start working efficiently again. And YOU get to feel So. Much. Better.

Fear can take a hold of you when you're not looking. When all the stories running around in your mind take hold and drown out everything else they feel like the truth. They're not real though and they're pretty much the opposite of truth. They're lies we make up because we think that if we believe them we will stay safe. That's called your comfort zone and you will never grow from there. You will live the same day every day forever, stopped by the same excuses. Instead practice focusing in on your heart and really trust what it says. It is truth. You just have to stay still long enough to listen.

We place alot of pressure on ourselves, our kids and our friends to be "happy" as if there's something wrong if we are not. I would like to challenge this "should" thinking that contributes to the feeling of not "enoughness" or that something isn't right or needs to be fixed or changed.
-
What if we could love what IS long enough to transcend it.
-
What if we could love all the feelings instead of just conditionally the ones our society deems "good" or ok or acceptable.
-
Just a little while before this photo Alex wasn't smiling. In fact he was downright cranky, sad and angry. So instead of feeling triggered I chose to be with him in total acceptance of his every feeling.. and not making him wrong for feeling anger and sadness but instead holding space for exactly where he was. In so doing he felt validated and heard and then suddenly he switch mood gears to what you see here.

Let's be kind to ourselves too and honor all our feelings and sit with them awhile without judgement, because they just want to be felt. And once they are felt and seen... then, and only then, can they leave.... and you can move on. xx

Even when you feel like everything should be other than what it is, I believe it is what it is because it's meant to exactly that and not what you think it should be... trust that you are where you are meant to be on your earthly journey, trust that God has your back, trust that all is well in this moment and trust that you are being looked after - especially in the moments when it least feels like it.

Stop fighting what is and trust Xx

Look within. You will find the answer there.  It's not outside of you,  it's not in a book, it's not in the head of some...

Look within. You will find the answer there. It's not outside of you, it's not in a book, it's not in the head of someone else. It's in the space that exists when you stop distracting yourself, and dare to listen to the truth, hear what wants to be heard, feel what wants to be felt and love what has been wanting to be loved. Peace happens more when you stop resisting what is, and start loving it instead.
