Namaskaram friends 🤍
A very busy winter was had with my music duo , touring across the French Alps.
We moved house upon our return and the gigs and music content has also kept me very busy.
I will be announcing a new public yoga session shortly, followed by some sound bath sessions which I’m really looking forward to.
I will also be teaching yoga on the beach again this summer when both my gigging schedule and weather aligns.
Stay tuned.
Peace x

So what really is Yoga?
In the west, Yoga is seen and enjoyed as mostly a physical exercise. Truth be told, Yoga is a spiritual process, a ladder of steps leading to the finality; known as ‘SAMADHI.’ Samadhi can intellectually be translated as, ‘a completely still mind field’. It is an active and dynamic state of self realisation.... Simply put, the objective of Yoga, is to quieten that chatter in your mind, revealing that peaceful place that lies within all of us....
So what is all the huffing and puffing about?!
Sage Patanjali, the author of the Yoga Sutras, informs us that ‘Asana’ is just the third limb (of 7), within the process of Ashtanga Yoga (Ashtanga leads to Raja Yoga, the highest dimensions of Yoga). Asana (the postures) has a huge process to play in our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual evolution. However, asana itself is not ‘Yoga’. Asana or posture, is also not an asana if it does not utilise breath awareness or mindfulness. In the west, many of us have the completely wrong idea on what we think Yoga is. That is why my job is to bridge the gap between teaching yoga as a physical exercise, whilst simultaneously allowing you to enjoy the deeper dimensions of life.
Yoga is certainly not just exercise. You may leave the classes physically refreshed (or exhausted!) but what a shame to leave not knowing the nature of your true self, experiencing a small glimpse of peace and bliss. The reason you are doing all of these asanas, and climbing the ladder in the process of Yoga, is to still the mind, set yourself free from all dimensions of suffering, to awaken your most balanced and blissful self, whilst building a strong temple (body) for you to experience all of the above =)
I look forward to assisting and guiding as many of you as possible.
