Final year BDS students (exam going batch) are informed that their 3rd terminal examination will be held on 29th of AUGUST at 1:30pm in auditorium block and are advised to get a single (large size) note book.
Syllabus is, all the chapters in: nonsurgical therapy ( section III) + surgical therapy( section IV)
All are requested to be on time.

Socket preservation with interim prosthesis

Patient came to our department with chief complaint of loosening of her upper rt central incisor.
On clinical and radiographic exam we found # at middle of root.
Different Rx options were discussed with pt, it was decided to go for immediate implant placement nd pt was advised for CBCT, nd then v found incisive foramen very close to simulated implant nd wll hv serious complications.
Then we decided to go for delayed implant placement nd presently v did socket preservation wth interim prosthesis as pt demanded immediate Rx to prevent psychological trauma and compromised esthetics

25 year old female presented to dept of periodontics and oral implantology with C/C of pain, foul smelling and food lodgment under the faulty prosthesis,, on examination it waz found tht pt is actually having ride defect( both horizontal as well as vertical). so under the guidance of H.O.D it waz decided to go for :- 1. Removal of faulty prosthesis. 2. Scalling and root planning. 3. Horizontal ridge augmentation by splitting the facial and palatal plate of alveolar bone and subsequent replacement with bone graft, using rubber dam as a membrane . 4. Vertical ridge augmentation by soft tissue graft taken from maxillary tuberosity.

A 30 year old woman was referred to the Department of Periodontology, Faculty of Dentistry, university of Kashmir, complaining of mass of tissue on her gingiva from several months. She felt very uncomfortable as the tissue interfered while chewing and sometimes there was bleeding spontaneously. Treatment includes: - scalling and root planning followed by gingivectomy and gingivoplasty.

A 30-year-old male came to Periodontics Clinic, hospital Srinagar complained about his upper central incisors protruded again after a tooth recontouring procedure that was carried out about two years ago. Further clinical examination revealed no systemic problems. Dental history revealed that about two years earlier patient was referred to the clinic for bleeding gum and protruded teeth (upper central incisors). The patient was later diagnosed with generalized moderate to severe chronic periodontitis which was possibly causing to his protruded upper central incisors . treatments involves surgical procedure, carried out to stabilize the periodontal tissues, later treated by orthodontic treatment
