We started work on our dedicated power supply, we needed this as the 2.5mm2 armoured cable that run maybe 30 metres underground from the farm house was getting hot! As indeed the overhead power to the house was.

A local company did us a very good deal (Gaskin Brothers Ltd) to dig a trench lay duct and will soon do some paving as well. Now we await National Power Networks to bring a supply down a pole and into our new kiosk , yet to decide which supplier to use.

Any way to have dug the trench by hand 30metres long would have taken weeks , the ground compacted rubble and type 1 was even hard for 3.5tonne digger , but we helped and all was finished in 3.5hours

We finished and delivered three planters for the Papworth trust recently, all made from upcycled timber.

It was a great experience delivering these to The Papworth Trust, both for us at the Shed and the people at the trust, an incredibly hard working and worth while charity.

We went to Shed fest in Worcester this year , Howard and Robert representing Soham Mens Shed along with around 500 other delegates. we were able to network and of course as members of UKMSA were able to vote in the AGM.

The association also laid on some entertainment with a serious Mens health and well being message , by the Commedian Jeff Norcott , we all received a lunch bag and goodie bag along with free tea and coffee all day.

So good to find out what others are doing around the county , and that we are doing the right things to.

Lots of grey hair !!!

The guys were asked to supply three planters by the Papworth Trust , based on those we supplied recently to a local school. We delivered these yesterday , handed over by our chairman Howard Laver at thier site in Chesterton, Cambridge.
