WBTV News reporter Rachel Richardson interviewed Gabby at our Rock Hill, SC, office. Thanks to a $600K grant from BAYADA, Gabby is working toward her RN at York Technical College while receiving paid, on-the-job training and providing personal care and companionship to BAYADA clients. Without this funding, Gabby shared she might not have been able to pursue this path.

We’re proud to announce that BAYADA and ECPI University have joined forces to help educate and train the next generation of nurses through a new scholarship partnership.

Nursing students at ECPI University’s Columbia campus who work at least 20 hours per week with BAYADA are now eligible to receive up to $10,000 in scholarship funds toward their Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) certifications through BAYADA’s Advance to LPN Scholarship Program.

After a devastating accident, former Philadelphia Highway Patrol officer Andy Chan was left critically injured. His wife, Teng, never left his side, transforming their home and becoming his full-time caregiver.

But love needed reinforcements. That’s when BAYADA stepped in.

From skilled nurses to devoted home health aides, Andy’s care team didn’t just show up—they stayed. One aide even went to nursing school and returned to continue caring for him.

Today, Andy communicates with blinks and smiles. He listens. He knows. And he is surrounded by unwavering love and care.

BAYADA client Kamile has been with us since January 2024. He recently transitioned off of his tracheostomy tube and graduated from our skilled nursing services, thanks to the dedication of his care team — including his nurse Alex and clinical manager Cheyenne, who are pictured with him.

We’re excited to announce our new partnership with York Technical College to launch a scholarship program supporting the next generation of nurses. Lauren is one of our apprentices from this partnership who is working to become a registered nurse through York Tech while working part-time with our Rock Hill, SC office.

Through partnerships like these and opportunities such as our Advance to LPN program, we’re actively working to help alleviate the nursing shortage in our local communities. By offering flexible and rewarding career paths in home care, we hope to empower aspiring and current nurses to build meaningful careers caring for clients where they feel most comfortable — their own homes.

We raised over $2,500 ($2,502.79) for the Alzheimer’s Association as a TEAM. We raised $590 last year which is over a 300% increase 🙌!! If you’d like to volunteer to help our sub-committee, reach out! We are starting to plan for next year’s Walk. The Cumberland County Walk itself has raised over $80,000 ($81,124) – awesome for a Cumberland County New Jersey upstart!

What better way to beat the heat then with a Spa Day at Summit Place! We had our volunteer, Connor, playing guitar while residents waited their turn, aromatherapy, gentle massages, face masks, and manicures for these lovely residents. Let's not forget the Philly Pretzel Factory for a little snack.

If you have never met Jodi (she does it all for this community) you are missing out on this angel. We couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity to spend time with these beautiful people.

Kristin Braack Harris of Seeds of Love Yoga, in all of her authentic, compassionate, and gentle acceptance, always welcomes community with open arms and a warm heart. **And she successfully calmed (or slowed) a bunch of healthcare professionals down** 😄. We are very fortunate to partner with a great community where we can provide information and education on our services and connect resources to further the mission of !

Thank you to our Bereavement Coordinator, Dr. Leslie Harrison, DMFT, and our Marketing Manager, Sara DiMascio, LMSW, for participating in this beautiful Memorial Service for our community at My Genesis HealthCare at Millville Center. It was an honor to pay tribute - in loving memory - to all the friends and loved ones we have lost this past year. We are always grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with our partners at My Genesis HealthCare to give back to this close knit community.

There were tears and smiles, tissues and gentle touches of comfort. There was companionship and looks of understanding. But, most importantly, there was love and compassion, unfiltered, unbiased, nonjudgmental. This is why we do what we do every day.
