Today brings new energy for expansion with the New Moon in Aquarius. After all the confusion and struggles of 2020 it is very welcome. This is also considered the 1st month of the Lunar New Year. If you want to make an old or new dream become real, now is the best time to take those first steps. This New Moon also encourages “thinking outside the box “ and changing things up for the future. You might notice feeling impatient with situations and people you are close to. Take a deep breath and know that something deep inside you is asking for things to change and create emotional freedom.
Where in your life do you feel stuck and need a new answer to an old problem. Now is the time to take advantage of this push of new energy. In that light, I've decided to widen the focus of Shamanic Song to include sound, images and Shamanic perspectives as our lives transform/evolve into a new way of being after such a challenging year.
Take some time in the next 2 days in meditation or journey to connection with your guiding spirits/teachers for suggestions on how to make your dreams come to life . We all survived 2020. It’s time for some radical new energy to create a new normal. Even the smallest step forward into a new beginning for yourself will help others do the same. Blessing to all of us as we begin moving forward in a New Moon way.

Halloween Rare Blue Full Moon 2020
Tomorrow night is such a rare full moon that I wanted to post something special! The last time it was a Halloween Blue Moon in all US Time Zones, was 76 years ago in 1944. (The year before the end of WW2) Hopefully this bodes well for the coming year too !
This powerful moon of freedom and expansion sets the tone for the rest of the year. Its time to release all our regrets, disappointments, heartbreaks, guilt and shame. Once we let go of these blocks, we can let our imagination and desires create new dreams and experiences of personal freedom. Imagine living your life in a new way.
To get there, you must first be willing to let go of your resentments, your anger, your need to be right and your attachment to suffering.
It begins by finding events in our past that keep us stuck. On a sheet of paper list old relationships or situations that no longer serve you. Summarize the emotions that go with them. Read this page to Grandmother Moon. Ask her for a healing so you can feel the freedom to “dream big“. Afterwards you can burn this page and say thank you for all that you learned from all that came before.
Then it’s time to think outside the box. Make a list of “What if’s?’”.
It’s time to focus on the possibilities of exciting times on the way and what opportunities they bring for change or improvement of life. Surround yourself with positive people. Feel the freedom of new choices on the horizon. Dream big! Happy Halloween!

Words for today:

The word 'shaman' was specifically chosen by anthropologists in the 19th Century to accurately describe certain individuals in tribal societies who perform as spiritualists on behalf of individuals and their communities, usually on a part time basis.

Their practice involves accessing trance states in which they connect with the worlds of things hidden to access power, protection, wisdom, support and healing. There are countless folk in the Western world and the world at large who are born with this ability, regardless of lineage or tradition (pace Nicholas Breeze Wood).

So we could say that a shamanist is a man or a woman who learns to use their own body and their mind to create a bridge between the personal world of form and the transpersonal world of the spirits. It's a calling, and when that bridge is formed, it allows the (healing) gifts from the spirit world to flow across that bridge and into our world to manifest something.

Let me say also (pace Nick) that this ability has little to nothing to do with costuming, objects or ritual although some of us are attracted to them. It's an innate (genetic) program on our inner hard drive (DNA) that encourages us to activate the program (with ceremony or objects as lift off) or not. It is always a matter of readiness and choice. I have come to believe and accept that all of us can do this to some extent. It is one of our birthrights. And some of us are real naturals at it.

For all of us right now it's all about releasing old beliefs, ideas and "stuff" that no longer serves our heart, spirit and the greater good. it is truly the only way to create space for new beginnings. In that light .. here is my plan :)
Beginning September 15th, 2018 and until January 15th, 2019…
I will be focusing on several projects that have been waiting to be finished. “When it’s time” has finally arrived.
In the coming 4 months I will be:
Finishing my Masters and Doctorate in Holistic Life Coaching with International Metaphysical Ministries, in Sedona AZ
Finishing and launching a Meditation Music CD
Relaunching “Soul Chat with Laini Risto".
Creating a larger online presence by teaching through the internet and pod casts.
Updating my website.
Creating a Monthly Blog or Newsletter
Planning a workshop in Phoenix AZ
Spending significantly more time out in Nature with my dogs and myself.
3 months goes fast...Let's see if I can at least get it all started.
I have had several texts and emails asking what I am planning in the way of Shamanic "classes" in the next few months.
I will be available when possible for private sessions for both individuals and small groups (2-6 people) at my private residence in the 7 Hills area of Henderson.
Although it is in the planning stage, I may occasionally hold a larger Shamanic Circle of up to 20 people out in nature as the weather cools down,
New and Full Moon ceremonies will begin again in January 2019.
