The SPAWA committee is working hard behind the scenes to finalise the 2026 conference timetable, and ticket registrations will open towards the end of Term 2!

We currently have submissions for abstracts/stories from the field open. These sessions provide an opportunity to share fantastic work being done by School Psychologists' across the state. If you would like to submit an expression of interest to present an abstract at the 2026 SPAWA Conference, more information can be found at www.spawa.org/events

As an Association, our purpose is to Connect, Inform and Inspire members working in the field of School Psychology, and our members voice is key to helping us do that well.

Our member survey is now open, and we invite you to take the time to share your feedback. Your input will help shape the Association’s strategic direction and future priorities.

As a thank you, you can choose to enter the draw to win a $100 Coles/Myer gift voucher. Entry details are collected separately to keep your survey responses anonymous.

SPAWA recently hosted its annual Sundowner, bringing together Life Members, former Committee Members and Friends of SPAWA for an evening of connection and reflection. It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and continue conversations about supporting and strengthening the work of school psychologists across all three education sectors.

A special highlight of the evening was a signing of some of the last remaining hard copies of The History of SPAWA: The First 35 Years, by its authors, Chris and Herman. The book is also available to read on our website, www.spawa.org/about but given how quickly the exclusive copies were snapped up, we may have to consider another print run (and ask Chris and Herman to sign a few more🫢)

We value the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the ongoing contributions of our Life Members, Friends of SPAWA and current committee members. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a meaningful event, as well as to those who weren’t able to join us but who continue to support SPAWA.

It was wonderful to have the opportunity to meet students and registered psychologists who are looking at a future career in school psychology at a recent careers evening!
