Although change is inevitable. Sometimes change elicits a bit of fear.
I read a quote somewhere that said “the only thing that stays the same is change”.  Change is constantly occurring and we cannot stop it. What we can do is learn to change the way we respond to it.  We can view it as an opportunity to be more open and loving  to our changing circumstances, our changing bodies, or evolving state of consciousness.  We can learn to turn fear or disdain into curiosity and interest and meet ourselves with a bit of love and compassion.

I googled “what is having faith?” The following description came up: Faith, at its core, is deep-rooted in the expectation of good things to come. It goes beyond hope. While much of hope lives in the mind, faith is steeped in the heart and the spirit. It can't be explained away by reason or logic, or be understood through a single dimension.
I find that when I’m in a space where the future is unknown it’s hard to hold on to faith. Fear creeps in and wants to take over. Refocusing on the idea of faith even if it feels inauthentic in the moment helps to drown out the fear. Life has taught me that things turn out ok in the end and I am always able to move forward from any dark space. So even though it’s sometimes hard to connect to something I can’t be certain of, I can connect with what I know. For example: history has taught me that I am strong and I am capable. I know I am a good person and that love surrounds me; I’m not alone. That’s fact and it’s not changing so there’s no reason to not have faith- good things are to come.

A couple of things I love in yoga - a shoulder stretch & to bump to good music. I often laugh at the range of emotions displayed on my face when I practice. This is me at home and in the studio... Luckily .dondero couldn’t see my faces via zoom 😝 specifically the ones at the end 🤣

No matter how much I love yoga and how it makes me feel, stepping on to my mat takes effort. Some days it’s easier than others. Some days I can’t wait to roll out my mat and get moving and others require pep talks reminding myself that although I don’t feel like it right now, I need it today. No matter the mood I start my practice in, I always feel amazing once it’s over. Whether it’s a 10 min routine or an hour, I’m always glad that I got up and moved.

Set time today to get up and move. You will not regret it.

I have been recently confronted with this question when I’ve said “I can’t do that,” “I’m not a .... person,” “ill never be able to do ...” - This can apply to so many scenarios but in many of them Ive quickly realized that I am not being truly honest with myself and that I’ve allowed these limiting beliefs to become facts with considering all of the evidence. I’ve found when I recognize the difference I can choose to shift or at least consider other narratives that better support me.

Staring to find float on my forearms! Still shocks me from tune to time. From this angle you can see how my back does not bend. Like at all. In this pose, it’s kind of an advantage. Even during times like these there is an opportunity to create. We can create a moment of joy, peace, inspiration, connection, even passion. It can be as simple intentionally opening a space for connection with an old friend or family member to dedicating an hour of your day towards a passion project. I found myself over the weekend making time to take on tasks that were gnawing at me in an effort to create peace of mind. I didn’t need to finish them just take a step towards it with the goal to feel accomplished and peaceful. What are some possibilities you can create today?

Always searching for that sweet spot where you are perfectly ALIGNED (stacked), BALANCED (over your wrists), GROUNDED (through your finger tips), feeling WEIGHTLESS. Then ENGAGING (the whole body), remaining FOCUSED, and ADJUSTING as needed so I don’t tip over. Working on handstands is a lesson in life. Both areas are still a work in progress.
