Thank you to everyone who braved the weather to come out on Sunday in support of our little book. We had so much fun celebrating with you all! We are busy putting the finishing touches together for our Book Launch tomorrow! As a reminder, the event is from 3-5 at Browns Socialhouse in Lynn Valley. We will have copies of the book available for purchase for $20 cash. Lastly, we have some fabulous door prizes that you won't want to miss!

We thought it would be nice to share a few things about the book itself. Starting with the cover. Our cover was designed by the talented Kait DeWolff of . We approached her to design our logo after seeing her beautiful watercolour paintings.

Her design of the interwoven mindfulness circles was the perfect symbol and quite simply, reflects the essence of the book.

Automaticity and awareness. Connection and separation. Parent and child. Joy and pain.

This book is a product of my work with many of you and countless children and families. It reflects what we have come to know about communication and attachment. It offers insight into parent-child relationships and my communication strategy for 'taking a step back' in times of conflict or challenges to relationships.

To celebrate this accomplishment we will be hosting a launch party on Sunday, November 25th from 3-5pm at Browns Socialhouse (Address: 1255 Lynn Valley Road, North Vancouver BC). We will serve light appetizers and have copies of the book available for purchase at that time.

Every day we take steps closer to completing this project. Today we are reviewing proofs and making decisions on colour and printing options. It's a process, with each decision impacting the next. Not unlike like the experience of being in relationship, or of parenting.

It's been quiet on here but very busy behind the scenes!! Over the past few months Dr. Holland and Val Hunter have been putting the finishing touches on their first BOOK! Parenting: The Joy and Pain, An Exploration of Mindful Attachment Parenting will be available for purchase on Amazon in a few short weeks!!! We will also be offering signed copies for friends and family who are interested :) This is a beautiful book that eloquently reflects Dr. Holland's perspective on attachment, mindfulness and parenting. We can't wait to share it with you all!

The experience at birth is marked by separation ... and yet the psychological connection between mother and babe - their attachment - is visible from the infant's first breath. Without words exchanged, mother and baby engage in an act of attunement purely through their biology. The experience is palpable to all who witness it.
