💙 LITTLE FOX WISDOM: Embodying the Reiki Precepts in Uncertain Times ...
When the world grows cold and uncertain, our instinct is to seek protection and insulation - thicker coats, firmer beliefs, clearer answers. Snow offers something different. It slows, softens, and quiets. In such a landscape, Usui Reiki Ryōhō offers not escape, but a gentle invitation to remain Okay and fully present even when warmth cannot be guaranteed.
No coat, letting snow fall freely, I allow it to be my coat and companion.
This is not recklessness. It is radical intimacy with reality. The Reiki Precepts begin here, where resistance softens, where life is met directly with open attention.
“Just for today, do not anger” is the gentle release of tension. Snow falls without judgment. The sun shines without permission. Anger rises when we demand that conditions be other than they are. With no coat, there is no struggle with the cold, only awareness, presence,
and flow.
“Just for today, do not worry” unfolds into quiet stillness. Snow muffles sound, slows motion, and centers the breath. Worry lives in the imagined future, yet each step is already taken. Feet touch the ground. Breath fogs. The body knows what to do. Mindful presence replaces anxious anticipation.
Gratitude in Usui’s teaching is a quiet, luminous recognition. Snow smooths what is sharp and chaotic. To let snow be one’s coat is to accept its weight and hush—to recognize that even cold, even stillness, participates in life’s harmony.
Working/practicing diligently means moving through life - sun or snow - with care, honesty, and gentle persistence. Kindness grows naturally in winter’s quiet. Those who share the same exposure recognize one another without judgment. Together, we walk in the snowfall.
Usui Reiki Ryōhō does not promise to control and change the weather. It teaches how to stand calmly within it, letting life’s elements pass through without losing the warmth of the heart, and always returning to the essence of all things.
Just for today,
walk in the snow,
as the snow. 🙏
